Terms and conditions

This promotion is open to members that receive an invitation email directly from Cashrewards and successfully activate the bonus offer using the Cashrewards account that corresponds to the email address that received the invitation (“Eligible Entrants”). To qualify for the $20 bonus, Eligible Entrants must first activate the offer, then book accommodation online at Booking.com via a Cashrewards platform between 02/02/2025 10:00 AM AEDT and 03/02/2025 09:59AM AEDT (“Promotional Period”) with a minimum spend of $100 (incl. GST) (“Qualifying Purchase”). A Qualifying Purchase excludes any transaction that is ineligible for cashback as set out in the store special terms, such as accommodation bookings that are cancelled or amended directly with the property. Accommodation offers are provided by Booking.com, not Cashrewards. Bonus will be approved in the Eligible Entrant’s Cashrewards account within 7 days of the associated Qualifying Purchase being approved. Cashrewards Terms of Use apply to the use of the Cashrewards platform and any associated purchase. Bonus is limited to one per Cashrewards account and is over and above the advertised store cashback rates which still apply to the transaction. Additional transactions do not qualify for additional bonuses. Fraudulent activity will result in rewards being forfeited and accounts closed.

Special terms

Important: Ensure "In Partnership with Cashrewards" or "Cashrewards" branding logo is displayed on each page of your booking. Your sale will not track and will not be attributed to Cashrewards if logo is not present. Your Booking.com confirmation email must also show this and claims will not be accepted if not present. Sample screenshots here & here.

When initiating a booking via Cashrewards on a device, kindly ensure the entire process is completed using that same device.

The purchase amount will display in EUR in your My Rewards, however the cashback amount is converted to AUD at current conversion rates.

Cashback is eligible on accommodation bookings only.

To be eligible for cashback via the Booking.com app, you must have the Booking.com app installed prior to tapping 'Shop Now' from the Cashrewards app.

The final amount of your reward is an estimation, it excludes taxes/fees, additional charges such as cleaning fees on homes, villas, and apartments, and is subject to currency conversion rates.

Cashback is ineligible on the following:

  • Any changes made directly with the hotel/property will invalidate cashback.
  • Car rentals, flights, non-accommodation bookings.
  • Use of any Booking.com refer-a-friend links, codes or any non-Cashrewards incentives (offers, links, newsletters, secret prices), unless stated as eligible on this site.
  • Travel that is not consumed.
  • Cleaning fees for homes & apartments.
  • GST and other taxes.
  • Fraudulent transactions.
  • Purchases using any type of discount which lowers price advertised on the Merchant site, including but not limited to employee discounts, student discounts and price-matching.

  • wished they upped the cashback to 15%

    • 1 night at $250 is ~$45 or nearly 20%. But not much for $250 anymore 😞

Shopback is 12% later today… already 10% (or 10.5% Plus)

Best of luck with refunds from cancellations especially where the property is paid directly. Booking in Paris September 2024 a complete shit show taking months and significant chats with the property and Booking.com with different advice from different Booking.com agents. Refund policy not on their website and they won't confirm by email. Never again.

    • I had a similar experience. It was the worst customer experience my family has ever endured.

If you don't believe me, try to look up their customer service and their policies. When you do finally get a response, it's like trying to draw blood from a stone.

Also, do a Google search of booking.com and you will find many issues with them. I have no idea why celebrities are endorsing the website (by appearing in their adverts). Shameful stuff for a quick buck.

My experience is the exact opposite personally.

I've cancelled around 30 bookings with them, including bookings I've paid directly, and bookings a day or two before travel. All of them have been refunded without issue and with no loss to me. If anything I feel a bit bad for taking advtange of the platform, but issues have arisen for multiple trips where I needed to cancel last minute.

Did you actually book somewhere with a refund policy and/or cancel within an appropriate time frame? I find it hard to believe you'd have issues otherwise unless the hotel itself was a scam.

      • Booking.com stuffed around for over 1 month after property refused to refund a fully refundable booking. It took ages and was painful and unnecessary. Two agents gave different responses. This is 100% fact. I'm happy you had a different experience. Why would anyone make this up!!!!???

        • Booking.com have continued to advertise the property in Paris after my experience in 2024. They also had scammers infiltrate their bookings asking for additional payments for Japanese hotels. The hotels advised their systems were ok but Booking.com claimed no responsibility. Google legal actions against Booking.com eg UK.

          • @Dick10: Check out the 1 star reviews on Product Review! Everyone can't be wrong.

    • Couple of points.
      1. If you don’t see a refund policy, how was it known to be fully refundable ?
      2. You never pay the property directly, and it’s not until you stay the property sees any $

Never ever had an issue with booking.com, Expedia, Agoda etc, nor an issue with any cashbacks!

Is the $20 bonus for $100+ a targeted offer via email again? Did anyone get it? :)

    • +2

I got an email with the deal this morning.

The email specifically says, and i quote:

Earn $20 bonus cashback with your FIRST booking when you spend over $100.

So im not sure if it excludes if you've used booking.com before?

Thanks for the info.. I am getting lots of FOMO lately from all these email targeted promo. I just switched on Cashrewards email marketing now..

      • +1

Yeah this was unclear. Would like to know as well!

  • Will it still count if you choose the pay later option, or do you need to choose pay now?

Booking.com is much more expensive than Expedia in my experience. Expedia had 14.5% discount yesterday

  • Had a stay completed on 31st Dec, cashback was received on 8th Jan. Surprisingly quick compared to shopback which was 5-6 months with follow up.

Haven't had any issues with cancellations either. During covid had multiple non refundable bookings overseas & domestic which booking.com refunded.

  • i think this is available again? received email about $20 bonus this morning and can activate
