Selected handsets on specific plans? Gee thanks for clearing that up. This isnt twitter mate, if you want to post a deal its common courtesy to atleast give a barebones description of what exactly you're offering, rather than just direct to the website.

  • +5

C'mon rep, make an effort !

  • +2

Basically you are paying for the PS3 yourself.
You can get a handset at the fraction of the total commitment of the contract.

    • +2

I agree - unless you want a basic phone and need a high cost plan, they are just building the PS3 cost into the contract

    • Yeah and they are very ordinary handsets.

    • Yup, old & out of date handset. Not worth the plan's price. Basically you are paying for the PS3.

And this Rep is damn lazy. I think he only considers Ozbargain as his spamming ground. Bad Bad Bad

  • Give us more details please and ill +ve if its good.. its simple as that

    EDIT:

    Fine Print;
the following plans and handsets Nokia X3-02 on the $29 Optus Cap, Samsung Galaxy Ace on the $49 Optus Cap, and the HTC Incredible S on the $59 Optus Cap

Its says its on the $79 cap not $59 for the HTC

  • PS3 is 120GB. Doesn't state firmware version though…

  • Here's a bit of a comparison, I just picked one to compare on:

The $49 cap with BYO phone is sold for $34 through Optus or $18 through TPG (Optus network, no difference in last mile quality). The phone is $179.10 with Optus or $300 from Mobicity (I'm sure it could be cheaper elsewhere).

    Comparing Optus with Optus, you get a Playstation 3 for $180.90 ( ((49 - 34) * 24) - 179.1 ).

Going for the cheapest "I want a PS3 and a Galaxy Ace on Optus", you are spending ~$400 on that PS3. That is, the Galaxy Ace from Mobicity for $300, and TPG's $18 plan over 24 months.

i can advise that the nokia x3-02 is a P.O.S.

  • Not a good deal at all. Comparison:

$299 Optus Prepaid HTC Incredible S + $300 PS3 + $1440 Unlimited Prepaid Credit (data, calls, text to any network in Aus) + No contract/excess charges = $2040 (max)(cheaper if you don't use the phone everyday)

Optus HTC Incredible S + 24 Month Plan Contract + PS3 + risk of excess charges (since it's not unlimited or prepaid) = $1896 (min)

    Definetly not a bargain.

  • Have Optus got a fix for the HTC Incredible S reception issues if they are still selling them?
I google the issue and Verizon put out a patch but I couldnt have anything for Optus.

  • This is pretty similar to Their Xbox 360 campaign that they just finished. Neither seem to provide a bargain to customers.

  • Wouldn't consider this a bargain at all.

  • i logged in just to neg this.. sorry Optus but your snufflin

  • I must be the only happy person to finally see Optus has plans with PS3, sure it may not be a bargain.

    • I guess to some its a benefit of not needing to pay for the ps3 upfront, similar to a buyersedge interest free deal, which I can see why there would be value to some consumers.

However, being a site devoted to price reductions, I can't see how this post can be voted anything other than negative. Especially seeing the Rep completely disregarded any instructions on how to post deals.

      • Way to encourage them, perhaps pointing them in the direction of the rules would be a good step

  • will it be cheap to get the $29 plan and sell the ps3 and keep my current shitty phone???

or is it cheaper to just go on the BYO $19 plan for the same value
