I think I have enough Castrol Edge to outlast my car. $6/L for fully synthetic oil is a good price.

    • castrol edge has been going to around $5-6/L these days?

Didn't see this Nulon is long life oil too :o

      • Is it super long life oil from ancient Greece?

        • Im a noob when it comes to engine oil… but it does say long life so you never know :)

        • No the Jurassic period

      • Autobarn did once and eBay plus deal did once in the last 2-3 months. It looks like you missed out on multiple occasions.

  • Is it worth switching to it from Penrith 5w30? Almost twice less in price difference. Toyota 1GR-FE

    • don't toyota engines make any oil good?

      • Not sure, asking for a friend ;)

    • +2

I used whatever was on sale for my camry, as long as the viscosity is the same I dont see why not

    • +2

You can use penrith full synth 5w30 in winter and this in the summer as its a bit thicker. I like Nulon stuff as it has Moly in it and penrith stuff coz its got lotsa zinc and slightly thinner which is good for colder weather during aussie winter

      • I used Penrite for the first time on my car 0-20w this sunday 🚗 .

        It runs soo Smooth!

What you change oil twice a year? Nah once a year is fine with full synthetic!

    • Yes, definitely worth the swap.

  • +3

    Petrol vehicles only.

    • Why is that?
I thought oil was interchangeable between diesel and petrol engines? Or I must be mistaken

      • +1

Some diesel engines require oil with different formulation, even if viscosity is same

PS: Oil that is suitable for diesel usually can be used on petrol engines as well though

Landcruiser V8 Petrol 100 series has enjoyed this oil, replaced every 5000-7000 km + oil filter for the last 4 oil changes (starting at 305,000 KM).

    No leaks.

Wife seems OK (!). Kids are good. We didn't get COVID.

Therefore, this oil seems to be COVID friendly.

Or, at least, works fine in a LC100 V8 Petrol.

Would buy more, but have 4 in "stock"

Use this oil too and can confirm none of my family have contracted Covid-19. Seems you’re on to something.

      • +1

wife OK report seems to be missing from your reply

        • +2

Sorry, I am better than this.

          Wife a-ok 👌🏼

    • Was this viscosity ok for the mileage of your car?Did the engine burn the oil?

  • Got some me and me dads car. Also the little trees metallic smell is $1, got 3 for me car

  • According to the Repco compatibility checker this isnt compatible with our 09 Camry but SCA's compatibility checker says it is. I'm going to trust that Toyota engines will run happily on anything and buy this.

    • +2

It'll run on seawater and still be fine

    • And demineralised water too 🚣‍♂️

    • Same repco its says my honda accord euro isnt compatible but sca and nulon website says it is

    • Repco says the little tree air freshener that is on clearance doesn’t fit my car…

    • Repco compatibility checker is not always accurate

  • Nulon Semi Synthetic 5W30 or 10W40 5LT 17.99 $ at Autobarn

  • Any idea if it is OK to mix nulon full synthetic 10w40 with nulon full synthetic 5w30 when doing oil change? Car is ford territory 2007.
Asking as I still have half bottle of 10w40 left from last oil change.

    • +1

It would probably be ok since the oils are from the same brand, however, I personally wouldn't risk it over a $40 bottle of oil that might cause additional wear.

    • As long as the Ford territory can take either 10w40 or 5w30 then it will be fine. The additive pack will be the same in both, just a slightly different ratio of base oils and viscosity improver (if it has one).

  • +1

Hey, can anyone tell me if WD-40 is for external use only?

    • Everything can be internal use if you ignore the post side effects

  • would this be good for VW Golf 2012 90TSI?

This product does not fit your vehicle

    hmmmmm……………………..

    WD-40 White Lithium Spray
    @ Bunnings - $8.90
    @ Repco (AFTER 40% off) - $9.60

    So do check your prices!

    • Their prices on engine oil are very good too… no on sale hype either… everyday price.

  • Should I get this, or the $25 Castrol Magnatec Bio-Synthetic?

    • +1

I have used both on the same car with no issues. Since both are specified as fully synthetic, pic whatever costs less.

      • Thanks. The $25 Castrol deal ends tomorrow. Might have to go stock up.

Was just thinking the bio version may have less longevity than this Nulon "Long Life".

  • +2

When this was $29 it got only 19 votes.
