  • Surely a 2015 Yaris would be happy with the 5W-30. Should I listen to the site telling me "This does not fit your vehicle."?

    • Try the Valvoline Lube guide , put in your rego and state to get the recommended list. (Select Retail tab)

    • It'll be fine.

Nulon Apex+ 5W-30 5L is only $34.99 from Autobarn. Just use that.

      • Sold out around me, so add around 13 bucks shipping.

        • Sorry should have noted I'm in Sydney.

    • Yeah, Supercheap Auto list the oil I use as "Not suitable" even though it's the right grade and the vendors website states it ok for my car, motor has never been quieter since I switched to the Penrite stuff I now use, plus they list a bunch of grades that are different spec to the recommended grade for my car as suitable for my car FFS!

This has been getting same crazy good reviews with regards to sludge removal all over the internet. Even the oil guy had a go and confirmed it's efficacy.

It claims that it can remove 100% of sludge with only 4 oil changes which quite a claim especially if you're running an older engine.

    <projectfarm>very impressive</projectfarm>

Might have to give this a go for my oil burning IS250. If it's the sticky piston rings, this might clean it up. Will report back after 2 years :D

    • which forum thread specifically discusses this?

  • Currently running this in two of my vehicles that have been maintained well (in my ownership but maybe not in prior owners!). At the very least, it should help clean up the rings which other oils cannot do (or alternatively, do it very gradually). Unfortunately too early to comment on its efficacy.
