I need something powerful enough to scrub the wrinkles off my forehead

My looks don't really bother me, but it makes me look like I'm angry or stressed all the time. Good for work I suppose because it makes me look busy a la George Costanza.

This one is good, except when you get one of those beads in your eye, then not so good.

So make sure your don't scrub near your eyes.

      From personal experience.

Don't put facial scrub in your eyes. Check.

This is very far from good. Any facial product that has a “scrub” is extremely bad for your face.

Your skin feels good after using it because the scrub has destroyed all the dead skin, but also everything good. Best analogy I was given is that it’s like getting rid of robbers in a city by bombing the whole place. Sure, you got the robbers but you also killed all the good and innocent civilians and you’re left with a wreck.

Avoid products like this like the plague.

      • So.. don't put soapy stuff near your eyes?

    • Please do not use this on your face. It will do a lot of damage

      • What do you suggest instead?

There are two ways you can exfoliate your skin: physical exfoliation or chemical exfoliation. Generally speaking, you want to avoid physical exfoliation because it can really damage your skin.
What you want is a chemical exfoliant: they work a little slower so they are gentler and milder on the skin

There are 6 main chemical exfoliants you can use: mandelic acid, glycolic acid, salicylic acid, lactic acid, beta hydroxy acid (BHA) and alpha hydroxy acid (AHA).

It really depends on your skin type to decide which of these you want to use. I personally use a combination of these (as do many people) and have had great results.

If you’re interested in learning more, google type of exfoliants for skin types and see which suits your skin. If you find glycolic acid, for example, is what’s suitable for you- just google “glycolic acid exfoliation Australia”. Read product reviews and go from there.

Good exfoliators do not have to be expensive.

  • Cheap, but also full of shitty chemicals, including sodium lauryl sulphate which has been shown to have adverse affects with prolonged use yet seems to be in tonnes of cheap beauty products.

I'd personally steer clear and get something that will actually be better for your skin.

I think most products out of L'Oreal, Nivea etc will have this issue. Here is a link for others to ready about SLS.

For a better alternative, try SUKIN - https://sukinnaturals.com.au/pages/the-sukin-no-list

    • What do you suggest instead for a body wash, shampoo, etc?

      • As suggested above by smigglejiggle, SUKIN is a great alternative. I use their body and hand wash and it's great. They also do plenty of other stuff, including shampoo.
Endota do some really high quality skincare stuff, though it is pricey so doesn't really fit the "ozbargain" theme.

  • They have no stock now so S&S is not available. I still bought 2 as is good enough! ThanksOP

Oh god please don’t ever use this anywhere on your skin. I literally use this as shower cleaner in my bathroom. It’s so harmful to your skin let alone your face.

    • Loreal it's worth it

      • Horse to water, etc. 🤷‍♂️

        • +1

Joke a side, I'm not sure why you negativing this deal? Coke can clean your toilet, you gonna negative coke deals as well?
There are plenty of skin care products loaded with chemicals. I would take your point if you got a phd in Dermatology.

Plus, usually there are warnings on these products for sensitive people.

          • @boomramada: I agree about chemicals. “Chemicals” aren’t bad at all, they can very good. What I was saying is that I once purchased a scrub like this before I knew much about skincare and now I use it to clean my shower because I wouldn’t use it for my skin.

The thing is, I don’t even need a PhD in dermatology to tell you it’s bad- it’s that bad. Spend 5–10 mins researching chemical vs physical exfoliation and you will understand why.

            • @Thranrond: As a example, just pick any famous brand of toothpaste, spend 5–10 mins research of products in them, you will find few articles on the net, telling them that it's bad for you. But that's not how research works.

I think it's just your personal choice, if you think its bad or not suit you, no hard feelings. Otherwise its feel like you picking on the product.

    • yeah, you don't
