Is the general OzB consensus. But I personally don’t read too deep into it.
I like to drink it. End of story for me
For the price, nothing better.
I use it for my percolator. Personally how old the coffee is for such a device is irrelevant
@bemybubble: So true! Will add to my hoard.
ALDI Lazzio Medium Roast is also good and is consistently priced at that level.
Who would've known that Ozbargainers would be so boujee.
I got suckered into buying a few bags of expensive coffee that some ozbargainers were spruiking once - didn't hold a candle to the good old lavazza oro.
The only coffee I buy from OzB is bay beans. No deal for a while so I get them from him direct now for my Oracle
Real coffee snobs grow their own trees. Once you have picked the beans, they must be roasted within 24 hours for that perfect aroma that the most refined noses demand.
I thought real coffee snobs liked Aldi beans and nothing else? Or are they pretenders?
Unless you are prepared to pay double the regular price for freshly roasted beans from specialist suppliers, this is probably one of the best you could get for the money. Due to its popularity, you seldom find a bag that's near its best before date if you shop in big supermarkets
I guess the problem isn't the proximity of its best before date, but that the well-travelled coffee was roasted and packaged weeks/months ago in Italy.
I think Oro taste better than their espresso (black). I paid like $12/kg from NQR for their Cafe espresso. Their beans may not be fresh but they taste good. I usually keep them as a reserve to use in between the fresh beans.

Lavazz Qualità Oro v Vittoria Mountain Grown?
Paris or Nikki Hilton
lol
Lavazza. Vittoria MG dont grind well or extract well in the Breville Barista Express*
(*ozb coffee machine of choice).
Thanks!
I should have mentioned I use an aeropress. And add soy milk. And draw a long coffee, like an americano. Then blast it in the microwave for 30 seconds after adding my soy juices to get it back up to temp. It's possible I'm reducing the flavour at every step of my brewing process! Maybe it doesn't matter, but Vittoria MG > Aldi blend.
Stale bean?
