i tried a pair of these, and while they're pretty good.. theyre not $700 good
They’d be cheaper if they were unapologetically plastic.
Saving $40 but throwing away your local warranty on $700 pair of headphones seems a bad move.
You don't need to compromise price for locally warranty. The Aust versions go under $700 often this year, even in the low $600s.

But if you are desperate for a pair now, eBay Wireless 1 with the targeted 5% eBay Plus discount code some people got recently would make it $711 or less than $700 if you also use discount GCs.
I am fairly certain, a spend $500 save 50 code will come back this week to replace last week's short lived one.I thought Apple will honour the warranty anyways?
