  • How large is a meal with Youfoodz?

    • +1

Microscopic, although they do offer larger options. I typically would only buy when there is a good deal and have it for lunch with something else.

      • +1

That's pretty apt. Some of their meals range between 300-400 cals. Just enough to feed a kitten.

    • i normally order large meal. The regular one is too small for me. If you just after calories or healthy food, Ignore me…

      • No just wanted to check if it's worth the money because $6.81 per meal is a bit pricey.

        • Not sure what you compared with. For me, it’s cheaper than the takeaway food in Sydney. But definitely can’t compare with home-made food. I usually ordered Youfoodz when I was too lazy to cook.

    • Not sure what your normal portion is in general, but personally its a pretty small portion size for what you pay for.

      • Is it like one of those ready made meals that you buy at the supermarket?

        • They take 2 minutes in the microwave to heat up.

YouFoodz are also sold in some supermarkets too.

        • Yes they are.

There's nothing unique about Youfoodz versus other ready made meals, as they're priced similar.

You can maybe try one portion out, as Coles sells them also.

I stopped eating from Youfoodz just cause of their racist owners (not saying you should).

Another company is Muscle Chef, similar prices and good portions (available at supermarkets).

          • @Ausdave: Can you provide some source or more information on "racist owners"? I'm not saying your wrong, I just like to do my own research before not using a company based on something I don't know anything about.

            @Ausdave: I am owner of youfoodz, I didn’t realise I am racist.

But in all seriousness, many companies execs, owners, staff, shareholders, (And their family and friends ) will have beliefs or stances etc that you don’t agree with.

              @cloudy: @cloudy

You and your partner are definitely racist, you can't change my belief/opinion:

@Ausdave: You’ve clearly done the research

How you treated your migrant workers speak louder than your words mate

I assume you neg amazon deals too then, but a quick look says not.

googled the articles of amazon and how it treats its workers? You’ll find 10x worse articles and it’s 100 times more publicised. Makes me wonder why now about yfz transgressions and not more we’ll known ones.

              • +2

@Ausdave: Thanks for the links, will make the choice not to spend money on youfoodz.

            • +1

@cloudy: How come you don't put Associated when you spam your deals?

              • @maxwellish: I dunno what you mean by spam my deals, i didn’t post this, I didn’t even upvote this, but happy to respond to assertions nevertheless.

Additionally, what my superfund owns don’t need association as far as I know, if we did I would think I’d see associated for pretty much every coles and woolies comment from most posters.

              • @maxwellish: I believe cloudy is saying that they own shares of Youfoodz as per the comment they linked, not that they are "the owner", Lance Giles of Youfoodz.

  • Use offer code THIRTY-DEAL for 30% off. This is better if you want large sized meals. Large are around 400-500grams, regular are around 300-400grams I think. I always buy the large.

    • didnt work for me.

      • +1

OK downvote me! I think it expired yesterday :( sorry for the bum steer mate! There will be another 20 or 30% code. Might be THIRTY-OFFER or HACKER-20 they go around a bit.
Just checked and THIRTY-DEAL expired last night.

  • Thanks OP!

I'm not sure is cashback qualified on orders using codes not on their website, but doesn't hurt to try.

If you've already used your Amex Deal, I received an sms for 9 meals for $59 (WINTER-DEAL) or 30% off (THIRTY-DEAL)
I can't confirm if those are targeted or not.

edit: Blade just beat me with the 30% code above

Between these and My Muscle Chef always being on sale for $7, would say Muscle Chef is the nicer fresh meal

    • +1

Nice - I've been wanting to try that - and you've just reminded me to.
      Thanks.

    • +1

      Where on sale?

      • +1

Was $7 last week at Woolies
Currently can get 8 meals, and a few drinks and snacks (chefs top picks) for 80 posted on there site.

    • +2

Yep prefer the my muscle chef. Good that you can freeze too. Try to use a referral if your new

    • Tiny portions though. I'd say the average person needs 2 meals to feel full.

    • I’ve literally never seen them on sale, only ever on clearance. I’d buy them more often if this was the case.

  • Word of warning. The instructions on the box asks for these to be microwaved when they are already thawed.

    • Is this bad?

      • A little annoying when I had to pull one out the freezer to defrost to have later on during the day.
Defeats the whole purpose of frozen meals. Mind you, I'm sure you could defrost them in the microwave beforehand but I'm not a fan of that.

        • +1

Not sure if you’re talking about youfoodz, because youfoodz are not frozen meals and doesn’t say anywhere to freeze them…

          • @cloudy: My protein can be frozen but cooked from frozen too

        • +1

I think you’re confusing them with another food prep service as youfoodz are fresh meals. You can freeze them but you can definitely nuke them from frozen, all good.

  • +1

    SUPER-DEAL gives 9 meals for $59.

https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/602821. Deal is marked as expired but code still seems to work.

Disgusting Company, Disgusting Product. Not a bargain if they were giving it away for free. Stick with my Muscle Chef

    • -1

I heard they have real good chinese food.

  • I'm still getting charged $20 delivery fee, I thought OP is $65 Delivered?
