For me its only on primary holder account and not the supplementary cards

  • Got all 3 on my main Discovery card and only Youfoodz on my 4 supps.

  • Thanks OP. Got it on the explorer card.
Does anyone know if it is applicable for Apple store gift card? I checked the terms but doesn’t seem to exclude gift cards

    • As long as you purchase it in-store, I don’t think anything can stop you.

        Online only

I think GCs may work as you are not taken to a third party site. However you have to buy them in $200 chunks and GC cannot be used for any payments outside the Australian iTunes Store, including taxes. So you can't use it to buy an iPhone at a store.

            • @itsme56: I ended up on a different page. Not sure everything I said is incorrect but happy to be proved wrong. Have you bought a gc and did you get the Amex email?

              • +1

                @SydneySwan: Ok, mostly false.

"I think GCs may work as you are not taken to a third party site."
                - True
(Apple sells their Gift Cards in the same way you can purchase a product, direct from their website, no 3rd party, and if you use Apple Pay theres no way for AMEX to know what product you purchased, therefore meaning this offer will activate)

"However you have to buy them in $200 chunks"
                - False
(Apple Store Gift Cards can be $25-$5000)

"and GC cannot be used for any payments outside the Australian iTunes Store"
                - False
(Apple Store Gift Cards can be used to buy anything from apple.com/au or in an Apple Store)

"So you can't use it to buy an iPhone at a store."
                - False
                (see above)

                • @itsme56: buy something $800 online, return for gc refund when pick up in store

Pay with Apple Pay and you’ll be fine.

      • The terms state that Payment processors excluded, does that mean Apple Pay ? Or a system such as Paypal ?
        Terms below
        Excludes purchases made via iTunes.
For purchases of products that may be delivered after the offer end date, you must ensure that $800 or more has been charged to your Card by 04/07/2021 to be eligible for the offer.
Only valid for purchases shipped to Australia and paid for in Australian Dollar (AUD).
Offer is limited to one credit per Card to which the offer is saved and only spend on this Card counts towards the Offer.
Excludes transactions where you do not spend directly with your Card to which the offer is saved, at Apple at www.apple.com.au. Offer valid at Australian website only.
Excludes transactions made through a third party establishment or payment processor.
Credit is not redeemable for cash or other payment form.
Credit should appear on your billing statement within 5 business days from qualifying spend but may take up to 90 days from the offer end date.
Credit will not be applied to your Card Account if your Card has been suspended or cancelled.
Credit may be reversed if your qualifying purchase is refunded or cancelled.
        Full Offer Terms available here.

        • No, Apple Pay is not a processor, Apple Pay transactions are processed directly by the card issuer.

Yes, PayPal is an example of a processor, or AfterPay/Zip, etc.

          • @itsme56: Excellent, thanks for the help

    • So did you get the Apple store gift card, did you get the statement credit?

      • @lilkid28, it definitely worked.
Received an Apple Store gift card and the statement credit
I used Apple Pay to pay for it.
Just note - I did not receive the email stating that I have used the offer and it took a week for the offer to say redeemed on the app

        Good Luck

Does this work on the Apple Education store?

  • Who has the iconic deal? I didn't get it…

    • Nothing on my cards (DJs Amex, standard Elevate and Velocity Escape)

    • I got it. Ultimate card

    • Got it on the Low Rate Credit Card - Primary Account only

    • I got it on the Platinum charge card. Only primary cardholder card, not on any supplementary cards. Not on Amex Reserve either.

  • Sadly got the rest apart from the one I wanted - apple.

  • I also got a spend $100 get $30 back with telstra / optus, up to 2x with my david Jones Amex

  • Damn. I only got Iconic & YouFoodz.
Amex must know I already buy too much Apple ☹️

    Card: Qantas Ultimate

  • Will I get the credits when I buy from Apple EDU store? Placed an order on iPad air but have not received any email.

    • Place an order for an iPad Pro this morning on the edu store. Get my offer email immediately. Even if you don't get the email, the offer should be marked as used in a day or two for you before the credit lands. I've had times where the offer email hasn't come through and I've still received the credit anyway. Hopefully you paid directly on your card and not via Paypal etc.

  • Tempting

  • No Apple for me. Only got the rubbish Youfoodz one.

  • Finally decided to get on the youfoods train.
