  • Here is 15” which is surprisingly cheaper

But not UHD for 1299 after discount

    • Im thinking of getting this, will be an upgrade from mid 2013 macbook air, any thoughts ?

      • This will be faster but will be totally different from Mac OS. I cannot comment on Mac vs pc - I like both but that’s just me.

    • this is 1.783 kg.
Anything around 1kg with 2-in-1 touchscreen?

If you buy this, get with extended warranty. Purchased in Feb and screen was broken after 3 months.

Also out of the box, one of the Intel drivers was constantly taking 100% CPU. Updating drivers fixed the issue.

Beside that it's an ok system for the price.

Decent screen for the price. 100% sRGB color, 300 nits.

I think the 15 inch i5 2 in 1 7506 might be the sweet spot at $1099 (1135g7 12gb Ram, 512 SSD, 300 nits %100 sRGB.). RAM is also upgradeable on these, as opposed to the 13 inch version.

  • buying on ebay doesn't give you the option to extend the warranty, does anyone know if you can purchase additional warranty through Dell?

    • from memory, you need to chat (ie "contact seller") on ebay to request warranty extensions.

      • tks

  • I purchased this laptop (7306 i7 16GB RAM 512 SSD) via Dell's Australia eBay store using this 20% off promotion which made this laptop sound like a steal. I was wanting to replace my 5 year old, 2016 Surface Pro 4 without having to pay Microsoft prices. I also wanted a laptop with a hinge that wouldn't flop or fall over like the Surface can. The Dell ticked all the right boxes I wanted: touch screen, stylus / pen, greater than 12" screen, 2in1 or detachable, light and backlit keys.

But very quickly after arrival I could see this was inferior compared to my 5 year old Surface Pro. The brightness was worse, the touch pad would more than occasionally not register the first tap and the same with the touch screen (i've never had this issue on the Surface), my SoundPeats bluetooth headphones had a very short delayed echo (again no issue on my phone or Surface Pro), the fingerprint reader rarely worked first time, the colours on the display look washed out and the contrast was awful and to top it off, the audio from the 3.5mm audio jack was nothing but static.

I may have got a lemon but I think the components are simply not as good as a 5 year old Surface Pro. Needless to say I sent it back straight away and went and bought a Surface Laptop 4 and guess what, none of the issues with the Dell and a far superior user experience without any Dell bloatware.

From the day they acknowledged receipt of my returned laptop, Dell took 3 weeks to provide a refund. Quite absurd considering they charged my card in seconds.

    • I am sad to hear that you had this experience with this model laptop. I am lucky I hadn’t purchased it yet because I didn’t have the cash as yet.

I thank you for your post, as it has discouraged me to look into Dell any further. I will use more youtube research for now until I am ready to buy later this year.

    • Yours might have been a defect. Mine is absolutely amazing. I love it. Dell customer service has been fantastic for me too. 🤷‍♂️
