  • So many good deals on PC parts except graphic cards.

    $450 for a 1650 super. Damn.

    • Don't worry, when GPUs come down to normal prices everything else will be expensive so it will even out. Lol

  • Will 650w be enough for:
    11400F
    RTX 3080
    2-3 SSDs
    16GB Ram
    5 fans (no RGB)

I went on to a website that recommended 550w, so assume I'll be OK, but want to double check.

It would definitely work… but if you’re running a 3080, I’d recommend something a bit better than this one.

      • +1

OK, so a high quality 650w?

        • -1

Yes it would work… but there are other problems with your build. Unless you're using it for mining, I would upgrade the CPU to an i9 or Ryzen 7/9, cause the i5 will be a massive bottleneck for the 3080. Going to 32GB of RAM is advised, although going 32GB is more futureproofing. After all that you're looking at an 850w PSU, one that I can recommend off the top of my head is the RM850x.

@Reddy Cool: None of what you said I feel is backed up by any of the research I've done.
I'm using this for gaming where there is no need for anything above 16GB RAM

Also when playing on 1440p or 4K there's basically no difference across most games between an 11400 and 11900 (in fact in some cases the 11400 actually performs best!).

            For reference: https://www.eurogamer.net/articles/digitalfoundry-2021-intel…

            • @putshan: You're right. Cpu pretty much won't make any difference when gaming at 4k/2k because GPU is doing all the work. Cpu only matters if playing at 1080p pumping very high fps.
16gb is fine and 32 won't make any difference and by the time you need 32gb ram the 3080 GPU will be way too slow.
Oh and if you're not going to overclock the GPU the 650w will be fine.

    • 650w is fine

60 bucks, but non modular psu, still 650watt and gold from silverstone
