  • Is there a coupon for hotel quarantine when you get back? ;)

The problem is getting back when shit goes down… When NZ close the border to an Aussie state most the flights are cancelled instantly… I was due to return on the 23rd, I was originally booked to transit back via Melbourne, when that border closed my flights were changed to via Sydney, then that border closed the night before my return… I was lucky that the Vic border re-opened the night the NSW border closed, after around 6 hours on hold with Qantas I managed to swap my flights to go via VIC rather than NSW and I only ended up having to do one extra night over there, thankfully I wasn't in Wellington, lol

It's a good time to visit NZ but you need to be prepared for some stuffing around and delays if/when things turn to crap…

Glad you made it home 🏡

  • Must be targeting those who are not in covid hotspots…

    • So you know where the hotspots will be in March next year??

A trip resulting in six hours on hold to Qantas - awww hell no. I don't care how much I'm saving.
