Congrats on an awesome milestone Clear - you’re a real credit to the community. And thanks so much for posting the deal on behalf of Cashrewards.

For shoppers, a reminder to enrol in our competition prior to shopping for chances to win cash and gift cards to the value of $2500. Enjoy, and good luck :)

reminder to enrol in our competition prior to shopping

I must have missed this, I like comps!

      I also like that:
      1) You've kept the signup of the comp on your site (vs 3rd party, dodgy-looking sites…), and
      2) You're going to publish the names of the winners.

Transparency like this is key to good business.

      Keep up the great work!

    • TA, will trade-in old iPad still eligible for this cashback?

      • +3

        Hi hanofee,
Unfortunately, if you trade in something as part of your payment, you won't be eligible for cashback on that transaction.
        thanks,
        minita

        • When did TA spawn an offspring?!!

    • Hi TA, could you please confirm online order with local pickup is eligible as well?

Just a bit of confusing re the term as "Cashback tracks to member accounts between 2-7 days after you receive confirmation from Apple that the product has been shipped"

      • +4

Hi gowest. This is fine provided the order is made and paid for fully online, and that no changes are made later (both in-store and/or online). Thanks.

        • +3

Thanks for the prompt support TA.

  • +3

Don't forget the Apple Amex Statement Credit for eligible people

  • Time to buy apple airpods

    • +4

Why would you buy them direct from Apple which after cashback are $293.48 rather than Officeworks/JB for $251?

      • +2

Return policy if you're unsure? Apple you can return it no questions asked for a full refund…. not sure about the others, may not be as flexible.

EDIT: I know the return policy is great at Apple because I ordered a UK-layout keyboard from them for cheap, tried it and hated it (US-layout keyboards are most common here in AU), and returned it for a full refund.

  • +2

Time to not buy an M1 iPad. Dammit.

    • +1

Would have bought the M1 iPad if not excluded.

      • +1

Just get JB hifi gift cards, then price match with education pricing. Bring a kid along though they need to see student ID to price match.

  • +1

iPhone 12 still cheaper at Officeworks if you can find stock

    • Goodguys will price match with officeworks and take back orders if they don’t have stock.

      • You sure? I’m also looking for iPhone 12 for Officeworks price but they don’t have stock anywhere

        • Yes. I have ordered iPhone mini that way.

        • +2

Obviously you will need to visit goodguys store and tell them which model you want to buy and tell them to match officeworks (which they did effortlessly in my case) and if they don’t have that model in stock just tell them you want to place order as backorder.

          • @fossilgem: cool, thanks, i didnt know good guys would price match something out of stock at the competitor store. Ill try in store today.

            • @WhatsTheBigDeal: Which iPhone 12 you looking to buy ?

              • @fossilgem: 128GB blue

                • +1

@WhatsTheBigDeal: Yeah. It seems available online but you will have to visit store to see if they have stock. It’s only $150 discount, I suggest if you are not in a hurry, wait until September they will announce new one then you can get 12 for even cheaper or new one.

                  • @fossilgem: thanks yeah that's also an option but not sure how long my cracked iphone XR will last lol, the dead pixels are spreading like covid-19. My best bet would be to hold on for it for 2-3 more months i guess

                    • +1

@WhatsTheBigDeal: I put clear packing tape across my screen. Seems to be holding :)

                    • @WhatsTheBigDeal: I put clear packing tape across my screen. Seems to be holding :)

  • +1

    How about purchases through EPP?

    • +2

      Read the description?

Cashback is ineligible on EPP purchases (Employee Purchase Program).

      • Sorry my bad. It's been a long night. Thanks.

  • +1

I so wish they had launched the new M1X MacBook Pro. Sigh!

    • +7

Even if they did, it probably would have been in the exclusion list

  • Thanks OP but, alas, all the new/fun/desirable products seem ineligible :-(

  • +5

That exclusions list, is there anything left afterward? Wowzers

    • iPhone?

    • +2

mac mini, MacBooks, and non-M1 ipads

Does Apple price match other stores now?

      • I went instore and they price matched a 5% or 10% sale for me before — it was a MacBook Pro at JB iirc. I do believe they have a max % discount.

  • +4

Ah damn, no AirTags. ah well.

    • No airtags x 2

    • +2

Bought a 4 pack yesterday - so can't say I wasn't relieved to see them in the exclusion list lol

      • +1

i logged in just to give you an upvote coz i also bought 4 airtags last week….. lol

  • Would OfficeWorks or JB Hifi match a cashrewards type of deal?

    • +2

      They don’t match cashbacks

      • Cool, thanks for the feedback!

  • +3

Congrats on your milestone Clear, thanks for all you do around here :)

  • +1

Does this deal apply to the Apple Education Union discounts?
    https://www.apple.com/au_edu_5000447/shop

    • +1

      Read the deal title.

    • anyone know if jb or office works would price match?

    • probably not.

@tightarse @Clear could you please clarify here?

      • probably not.

EPP stores are in the exclusion list.

  • +2

Is doing trade-in of old device eligible for the cash back? Or it’d void it?

    • Same question but i think it’s fine.

      • +1

        Quoted from above (Store Rep)
        "Hi hanofee,
Unfortunately, if you trade in something as part of your payment, you won't be eligible for cashback on that transaction.
        thanks,
        minita"

        • Saw that, thanks :(

        • :(..

      • Nope, it won't work. See Minita's response under the first comment.

  • +4

Well done Clear. You're one of the good ones on this site. I look forward to the next 1500!

    • +1

      😘😘

  • +1

first 1500 were clearly awesome thank you

  • Will cash back be eligible if apple store gift cards are used to make the purchase? I couldn’t find the info on the Cashrewards site

    • You can't use App Store gift cards to purchase items from their online store that sells physical products.

App Store (& iTunes) gift cards can be used for: iCloud subscriptions, App Store (includes both one-off purchases and subscriptions) & iTunes.

      • +1

Apple Store gift cards, not App Store gift cards.

        • Holy cow, I never knew these existed! Still, probably good practice to have someone explaining them… I know that App Store gift cards are more readily available/last minute presents for people, and hence are more likely to be in someone's possession…

          • +1

@[Deactivated]: Yup they do. I have the Amex offer on two cards, I would want to go down the apple store gift card route to double up, if possible.

            • @rake: Amex offer works for Apple store gift card? Maybe better buying gift card and wait until they refresh their range in September?

    • +1

Under Cashback Tips, it says: "You may not be eligible for Cashback if a gift card is purchased or used as payment." so it looks like a no

  • Thank you! Can I clarify that the iPad Air 4th Gen will be eligible please?

    • +1

I can't see that on exclusion list. So I guess for iPad, only iPad Air 4th Gen and iPad Mini 5th Gen are eligible?

    • +1

No iPad 8th Gen, their cheapest range :(

  • might be quicker to just list the items that are included based on that exclusion list ;)

    • 2014 iPhones are included, so yay for that. LOL.

  • Can I confirm the 13 Inch MacBook Pro is eligible?

I’m not sure what “Mac Pro Console” in the description here

  • no M1 iMac wtf

  • tax time for m1 macbook

  • +1

No iPad Pro M1, so sad

  • Thank you for this great deal guys.
Is the current gen Ipad Air included?
I wasn't sure after reading the exclusion list.

    • It's included. But early next year iPad Air possibly could have OLED screen though according to macrumors, so wondering if it'd be better to wait?
Thinking of upgrading but my Air 2 still works fine for short term

      • Thanks mate.
I have a 2nd gen IPad mini that is struggling now.
I was trying to find the Ipad pro 2020 model but can't find them anywhere.
Ipad Air 4 is next best option for us.

  • -2

8% cashback except on things that anyone would want to buy. Great deal. LOL.

    • +2

Except of course if someone wanted to buy a MBA, MBP, iPad or iPad Air or iPhone. LOL

  • Does apple accept Opened box Macbook Air M1 returns?

    • You can return within 14 days, even if you use the product; ie not just opened the box.

  • +1

Just confirming this works for pickup orders made online like previously?

  • Does anyone know where we can purchase discounted Apple Store gift cards (not itunes)?

  • I've been saving for a while, and going to trade in the kids two old ipads, plus another spare ipad and buy 2x 24" imacs and 2x new IPADs, but all are excluded!

Would have been a wicked deal if I could have capitilised on this, but alas, not to be.

    • iPad Airs are included but not the M1 Pros unless your kids need the M1 pro.

    • Trade in is not allowed too anyway as per comment above. Have to sell in gumtree/ebay

    • +1

You probably don't need to trade in your kids.

  • Congrats Clear!

    • Thanks mate

  • +1

Is the iPad Pro M1 excluded?
Have to wait for the next deal where it is included.

  • I purchased a macbook but cashrewards hasn't sent any confirmation email. Has anyone received their confirmation after the purchase? Cashrewards history shows I visited Apple store.

    • +4

Cashback tracks to member accounts between 2-7 days after you receive confirmation from Apple that the product has been shipped.
