      Oh, here we go. I'm sure some people only buy specs, but others buy brand, history, lineage, originality, quality, finish or whatever else (besides specs) appeals to the owner.

      Personally, I buy according to the latter part of the list, and am a Seiko fan, so would prefer the original to a Chinese homage/copy.

      Most likely not the Seiko JDM build quality either. I’d pay the extra for this any day. Knowing my watch was made in Japan as opposed to a Chinese sweatshop makes me feel much better.

      Big fan of reps and a big believer in their quality, but when it comes to sub 1k Seiko's it is extremely unlikely the quality to price difference of buying a rep is worthwhile.
