Why does this cursed device exist

  • I bought one of these for $6 as a Christmas present at one of those discount stores in Footscray.

Ther person who received it said it cut slices a bit too thick.

  • This one is cheaper and Japanese

$10 delivery unless over $100 or pick up

$8.80 every day at Daiso. Was going to buy it but felt the plastic a bit too brittle so … decided to continue looking.

  • Gifts for Kris Kringle and inlaws sorted

  • Any French here will love this for Foie Gras slicing which can get tricky sometimes.
Of course others can use it for the same reason. Just assuming French would know the pain cos they'd be doing it their whole life.

To that one person who reported it as Spam, you win the internet today 😂😂

If anyone is still interested in this item they sell it for $8.80 at Daiso.
Edit: Ops someone already mentioned this above.

  • I coulda sworn these were for slicing boiled eggs!

If people are actually buying this, I recommend the type where the bottom surface has a big dip for the egg to sit in, + you can still slice your spam and other things.

My dad used to have one of these 20 years ago, and I remember the issues were that the metal wire 'blades' end up bending, they get wonky and can't cut smoothly, and they also stop being as sharp.

  • Kinda hijacking, where do you buy cheap spam??

  • I'm glad I missed out, this is exactly the kind of useless thing I would buy XD

    Upvoted for spam.

  • The only use case I can think for this is if you're going through a butt-tonne of spam (cooking for an event or gathering or commercial reasons), the few seconds saved & consistency probably helps with mass-processing of spam…

But who needs this for home use?

    out of stock! fudge!!

Does anybody know if this would cut my devon or would I need devon slicer?

  • You would imagine a person carefully cutting Spam with this also fitting the profile of a serial killer

    • kek'd

  • LOL… there really is something for anything xD

  • Can also be used for Canned Corned Beef.
