    • can you upload a screenshot of receipt plz..will try to get price match it …just missed it prices are back to normal online.

    • Well played. That's and awesome price. I got really close to pulling the trigger, but have decided to hold on a while longer as I'm in no rush. However, I'm almost certain the C1 77" will be my next Theater room TV. :)

  • Thank you! Have been keeping an eye out for the XM4's

  • Can't believe I missed out LOL I was waiting until this morning so I could ring and make sure there's no early payment fees (was planning on interest free for 24 months) but I wake up and the deals gone! Does anyone know if they'll price match a receipt for this price? Or know if a $10 or $15 percent is coming up again?

    Buyers' beware.

I bought an LG CX 7 months ago. Now there are 2 dead pixels. I am having a very difficult time getting LG to repair or replace the panel even though it's in warranty. Their reply is simply "the TV is working within specs and it doesn't affect the performance".

One of the pixels is right on the edge, so I can ignore that. But the other is near the centre of the screen. For a TV that costs that much, I am quite disheartened with their support.

I am assuming LG has a similar policy for the LG C1. I do hope I am wrong and others receive better support.

Call the ACCC mate, hope you have better luck there.

        Thanks mate.

I will contact LG again tomorrow and see what happens. If it doesn't go well, I will contact the ACCC.

I will update my post with more information for potential buyers so they might learn from my experience with LG support.

yes, please do. I bought a 65 CX back in January. So far haven't detected any dead pixels.

@he11bent: After another chat with LG support, they agreed to send out a local technician to assess the TV.

I will report back once I know the outcome.

              @Lollypophop: Thanks for the update.

              • @he11bent: Contacted the technicians and I have a service booked for Monday.

The receptionist said that they will do a repair of the screen on-site, so I am cautiously optimistic.

@Lollypophop: I haven't noticed any dead pixels. How noticeable are they? If you could post a picture please

                  • @he11bent: Update:
Got the panel replaced. Aside from a total time of ~3hr with LG Support, the process was relatively painless.

The technicians were very helpful and informative. They said that LG is one of the better companies and are more willing than most companies to assist customers, even outside of warranty periods. So, I may have had an isolated bad experience or been too harsh on LG.

Panel replacement is between ~66% and 75% of the cost of the TV outside of warranty, depending on size (bigger the TV, higher the percentage).

                    RE: dead pixels
On a static image, dead pixels are obvious, especially on white/lighter coloured backgrounds. On darker and moving images, it is barely noticeable. If you can't see any, I wouldn't look too hard unless you're still within the warranty period. Once you notice one, it's difficult to ignore.

                    Process:
When contacting LG support, they ask you to send them photos of the dead pixels. I first sent them this: https://imgur.com/a/Btd1iX1 which they rejected because it wasn't taken from 'normal viewing distance'. However, it is difficult to get my camera (Samsung S21 Ultra) to focus on a dead pixel from more than 10cm away. Took me 15 minutes to get this: https://imgur.com/a/tSkKSIS (the only angle the camera would focus), which they rejected since it only demonstrates a problem from an angle. The fault must be from 'all angles'. Once I told LG Support that the dead pixels are viewable from all angles (front, left side, right side, top, and bottom), they agreed to put a request through to a technician to come and assess the panel.

After calling the technician and reporting the problem, they sent over a new panel in 2 working days, which took ~15 minutes to replace. Interestingly, even the technician couldn't get a photo of the dead pixel front-on and from 'normal viewing range'.

As per the person below, next time I might go choose to buy from the Good Guys or JB HIFI with their better warranty process and get their extended warranty for peace of mind.

I hope this helps others who are looking to get an expensive LG TV.

                    TL:DR:
The panel got fixed after a week and a half, and a mildly frustrating process. I would still recommend an LG CX or LG C1. They are amazing TV's. Just be aware that warranty claims may be annoying.

                    • @Lollypophop: Thanks for that. I'll do a static test tonight. But agreed. I do love my CX, don't think I'll be replacing it for 5+ years

                      • @he11bent: You're welcome.

The new panel has a vertical line of stuck pixels. Pixel refresh doesn't fix the issue.

It's back to contacting LG Support for me.

                        • +2

@Lollypophop: I think they just need to replace the whole thing at this stage

                          • @he11bent: Yep.

They will come by next week to replace it.

I wish you much more luck and fingers crossed for reaching the 5-year mark!

I had two 2016 models of LG Oleds at home and both developed burn in after 4 years. With extended warranty, first they tried to repair but it was not economical for them to do so. Got replacement from LG with new 2020 models. No questions asked!

      • What extended warranty was it?

  • Got a call from my local store and they said the C1 48” I ordered was out of stock and they need to order one in. ETA is 2-6 weeks! What are my options?

    • I called goodguys directly and requested the 15% discount on their 55" C1. They did it and i have the $2205 bill to pay now for pickup :) Good alternative to the 48

Any recommendations on where to get discounted gift cards? Shopback looks like they are physical and must be posted out so rule them out? Any other options?

      • Did you call your local store or the 1300 line?

        • 1300 line!
Buying giftcards via Macquarie marketplace. Comes to 2138 approx after the 3% discount!

          • @WetWaffle: Hmm…I’ll give them a call too to seek ‘compensation’ for the back ordered 48” and see what they can do if I ‘upgrade’.

  • Any chance the 48 C1 will come back to this price anytime soon? gutted i didnt see it in time :/
