Synology DS920+ 4-Bay NAS drive, with 4GB DDR4 memory (expandable to 8GB). Uses a 4 core Intel Celeron J4125 which can be used to encode 4K media in a Plex server.

Can be used as a virtual machine or a Surveillance Station

It can use m.2 drives as a cache to improve performance

In addition to standard Raid configurations, Synology’s Hybrid Raid allows different size hard disks to be used in a raid array. This allows gradual upgrade of storage

One downside is it still uses Gigabit Ethernet compared to QNAP higher-end NAS enclosures. It also has only 2 USB 3.0 ports
