Why doesn't OP mention the traditional 3x3 one for $9.50? https://www.bigw.com.au/product/rubiks-cube-assorted-/p/9569…

    • Because it's posted as a deal here.

You have a point though. I'll add it to the table.

As mentioned in the other thread - don't buy Rubik's branded cubes. The 3rd party cubes are superior in every way and typically cheaper.

Any recommendations or brands of note? Planning to get them as gifts for someone to start out on

I'm a bit out of the loop the last couple of years but my favourite cheap cubes have always been from Shengshau, "Cyclone Boys" and YuXin

It really comes down to personal preference. I love my 3x3 and 4x4 Shengshou's but my son who can solve a hell of a lot faster than me much prefers DaYan or MoYu as well as others. The Rubiks brand speed cube isn't too bad but the standard ones are generally horrible.

I do like my Cyclone Boys 2x2 as well.

Speed cube shop in Melbourne. Rubik's is too clunky and slow. And they be cheap for the quality.

Check out jperm's videos on youtube https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3FiMrGDOwzQ

Among others, he recommends the MoYo RS3 M as a good budget cube. They are magnitised and only $9 https://speedcubeshop.com/products/moyu-rs3-m-2020-3x3

  • "This promotion is valid only on Toy Mania products listed below:"
    ….

    No Rubik's cubes

    • No surprise, they aren't going to give away 2000 points for a $9.50 purchase. The big points offers are only on big dollar items.

OP should probably just delete the reference to 3000 points in this post. It doesn't apply to anything relating to this post.

  • Any special method or process for Kindergarten kids to learn it apart from lengthy YouTube videos?

    • My kids can solve a 2x2 following the instructions on the packet (once I helped them decipher the pictures), but not yet on their own so others might have better advice. But I'd suggest just starting with a 2x2 as there is less algorithms to remember. Get them working on solving the first layer intuitively and then progress from there. It might help if you also learn if you don't already know how to keep them interested. I gather it's the kind of activity some kids gravitate to, while others won't have the patience for it.

  • I can see rubiks cube on the toy mania catlogue, very 1st page

    • If you're wondering why I haven't included the original Rubik's Cube in the title, it's because it's been posted as a separate deal. (I have, however, included it in the table, linked to the deal.)

Otherwise I'm not sure what you're trying to say. (I've added the info to the deal in any case.)

  • Looks like Bonus points is online only plus you get ten times the $ spent not 3000 points. If you spend $10 you probably get 100 points

  • I picked up a 3x3 speed cube for the boys from Amazon for $9.50 a few weeks ago. Seems pretty solid compared to the genuine cubes. $13.50 isn’t a huge discount. No one in their right mind would pay $30 retail. Our son got a 4x4 cube for his birthday and it fell apart within 5 minutes.
