@[Deactivated]: For the same unit with a slightly bigger oled screen and 64gb. All other internals are all the same from 2017. Not the 4K Pro people have been talking about thr last couple years.
Soo not a worthy upgrade at all. Especially with kids starting a game up, and forgetting about it creating potential screen burn in on the same 720p res 😂

Most likely not hackable, these are probably the most recently produced old models before production switched over exclusively to the newer models. Ebay or Gumtree is a better bet.

New model has better battery life and screen.

@dmcneice: I can see quite a few under $400 (even a few under $300) on facebook marketplace, I guess it depends where you are located as to what bargains can be found.
Just came back in stock, I snagged one after hitting refresh every 15 seconds for the last 10 minutes lol.
With Prime returns, if it can't be patched then it can easily be returned or easily sold on FB marketplace/gumtree.

How are you so sure? Not all 2017 models can be hacked as some of them are patched.

Correct, the problem was corrected quite early, this console came out 3rd March 2017, so there's a whole 9 months of a "2017 model" that it could be any one of, and I'm guessing it definitely isn't a launch version.

What someone is prepared to pay, nothing like the Nintendo Switch shortage prices we were seeing. They are a great investment if you can pick one up it's, it's a super active modding scene.
