  • I’m no expert, but 300 watts sounds like a lot of watts

    • +3

Not if you're trying to go back to the future

    • Thats because they're a bit sneaky… from the Hisense website:

      Sound Bar 180 Watts.
      Subwoofer 120 Watts.

  • That's not my 6yr old Samsung has 320w

  • why do they make soundbars black? most tv cabinets are white or wood

    • I got one of these a week or so ago and it is actually a dark grey colour which looks really good on my wooden tv stand

      • And how does it perform?

        • +1

I am super happy with it! Been using it for gaming and watching movies and it provides a great solid audio with a nice natural sounding bass from the sub. It took a bit of fiddling with settings to get it to play correctly with my TV and PS5 without giving me huge audio lag and lacking sound, but now that it is set up right, I am very impressed with the performance and ARC capabilities.

      • Actually I take back what I said about the soundbar being dark grey, I just had a look at mine and it is definitely black. It still looks really good on my wooden TV stand regardless.

    • TVs are black? Most of them

    FYI for others interested.

Got this from the previous deal.

Very happy with it so far.
Have transitioned from a proper 5.1 set up to this.
[The active sub stopped working, plus wanted to de-clutter the living room]

    Setup:
Using Coaxial from TV, and Bluetooth from phone.
    Wireless sub next/in between lounge.

    Sound:
Rear directional feel is no where near a 5.1 of course.
[Will need to test HDMI which is where Dolby Atmos mode kicks in, but need a new TV]

    But front stage is awesome.
Voice clarity is really good, movies and tv shows alike.

Bass not as prominent (Have tweaked EQ to add 3 steps)
(It is smaller then 5.1 setup, but it is located closer to viewer vs previously sitting next to TV)

Wireless streaming from Phone works without hiccup, using Music profile and Youtube Music.

LED light not distracting, as it stays on while in use.

I'm no audiophile, just from what I've experienced.
Was researching more expensive sets with wireless rears, directional fronts, wireless bass etc…
    But they were over $1000.

To me, it sounds better then the Bose 300, Sonos Beam
    Very close to Bose 500
Bose 700 / Sonos Arc w/Sub, has more clarity, wider stage feel and weight/punch.

Overall really happy with the $250 I spent.

  • Can confirm with reviews.

Got mine from last TGG sale with 15% cash back.

Voice is very clear and Dolby Almos is very good.

  • Thanks, picked one up to replace my 7-year-old soundbar, which only sounds marginally better than the TV speakers.

Could never justify spending big on a soundbar but this seems like a good price point.

god, you guys are really pushing me. going to pickup my new tv today, and a soundbar is on the list right now.

  • Also got this last week. Only disappointing thing was connecting phone via Bluetooth required choosing the BT setting on the TV, it wasn't an "always on BT" like I've seen on other speakers.

    • I'm not sure if I understand this..Does that mean you always need TV ON to connect phone to soundbar. What are the limitations for choosing BT setting on TV

    • I just switch to BT mode on the speaker, then connect via Phone.
      TV stays off.

But yes its not a smart speaker, where it will just connect your phone when its close.
Although, personally I would turn that function off.
I like my phone to remember my watch and XM4, instead of the soundbar which I occasionally use with Phone.

Oh and the soundbar also goes into standby after around 10-15mins of no audio signal.

  • Yeah as crazym0nkey said. So don't need TV on, but need to either press a button on the sound bar or use the remote to put it into Bluetooth mode. It's not just always on for you to select it on your phone when convenient - if that makes sense.

  • Guys, whoever own this soundbar, would you able to measure the height of the soundbar, I've checked couple of website, the measures are different. I just want to make sure it does not block my tv contant. Thanks

  • I connected my 6 year old Samsung soundbar& subwoofer to my new tv. Honestly, internal speaker is same if not a pinch better than the soundbar. Maybe I will have to wait for a midrange soundbar on sale.

  • picked one up yesterday and sounds better than my yamaha Yamaha ATS-2070.

    • That's what i have too. Is it noticably better? I could never get the settings right with my Hisense TV so wondered if pairing one of these would be better.

      • +1

100 extra watts and it has Dolby atmosphere which is great for netflix. Watched a witcher scene and sounded noticeably bette.

  • hey guys i collected my hisence soundbar last night and this morning went to got get it out of the car and they mixed up my order they actually packed a Sony HT-S350!! its about the same price but is the hisence still better??

  • Does anyone have one of these soundbars connected to a Hisense Q8 TV? I picked mine up yesterday, and I’m trying to work how to make it sound good with my Apple TV 4K.

When its in surround mode, the bass sounds great, and the centre channel is really clear but seems to be far too loud relative to the L/R channels. If I turn off surround mode on the soundbar, the L/R comes back strong, but the dialog disappears completely.

Ive tried the different EQ settings without much effect, so I’m not sure if its a setting I’m missing, or if I got a dud unit..

  • Anyone experience connection issue? Or sound drop? I read some reviews online mentioned that issue.

  • I connected it to my Sony TV via ARC.

If I power the TV off with the Apple TV, next time turning tv on the soundbar powers up but ends up going to tv speaker. Not sure if this is Sony’s fault or the soundbars slow power up.

Takes 18 seconds to wake from standby.

There’s a standard it seems soundbars have to adopt - turn off after 15 minutes of no sound, and it’s not auto waking up after sound.

Sound seems good so far, haven’t watched any movies yet.

Have I got a dud or did I just expect more from this?

    • +1

No..I have similar problem..after 15 mins of standby it looses the connection and it doesn't get back automatically after sound is On.

      • Thanks
