Does anyone know if they do tyres to fit my Bugatti Super Sport. I'm due for a new set in a month

    • yea i have it on mine, highly recommended

    • +1

You should find the right size here

  • just found out RE003 doesn't come with the rim protector rubber thing. My stock Dunlop Maxx has that.

  • How much is wheel alignment at Bridgestone?

    • This was four years ago; I paid about $50

      • now possibly can only do the rear one for that price in Syd. $65 front and 50 rear but they sometimes do offer extra alignment after 5000 kms

  • -1

Buy 3 for the price of 4.

  • I heard that tyres will be expired when 5 years, even it looks ok, is it correct?

    • +6

yes. as they get old rubber dries out and cracks start to appear.
they'll last longer if always kept in the garage or under cover.

  • +1

These look great but I need runflats as my car doesn't carry a spare. Any one have any suggestions or know of any sales?

    • “Need” isn’t the right word…. you can certainly run standard tyres (carry a kit of the goop stuff and inflator cartridge). If you happen to have a bad puncture (something rips the sidewall) the goop won’t help, but then a run flat could be damaged as well.

Guess it depends if you have roadside assist or are prepared to deal with the annoyance of having a flat.

In the last 15 years of driving I’ve never had a flat so it’s not super common. EDIT - obviously I can’t extrapolate because I’ve never had a flat no one else will, but rather just speaking anecdotally flat tyres don’t happen all that often…

For the cost of a run flats (not just the purchase price but additional running costs due to increased weight) I’d much rather buy normal tyres and pay for roadside assist or deal with having a flat tyre on the rare occasion.

  • Noob on tyres, but I'm looking for 225/65R17 102V for my CX5, it looks like the selection is really limited on these sizes.
What would you do in this situation?

    • +1

      Pirelli Scorpion Verde All Season

  • Wondering if these are any good on the tesla model 3. Currently running the michellen pilot sport (acoustic)

18" quoted $345 per tyre for the michellen

    • Wow. What width / profile?

I was just abit interested in the price of these Potenzas for comparison to the 19 235*35 P-Zeros I've just had fitted. They were $250 each. The Bridgestone site has the size listed but won't show a price even when select a store.

      • Size is 235/45r18

The tyres cost more as they are foam lined from what I'm told

        • +2

That's for noise reduction. It probably isn't essential although road noise may be annoying in an EV. But that is what music is for anyway isn't it?

I like to hear engine noise anyway and in my car that overrides tyre noise.

        • Try 245/45 R18 as 235 is not a common width. I did that on my euro. 245 tyre is much cheaper than 235

  • My car will price beat

    • +1

My car does not stock bridgestone

  • Overpriced tyres.

  • Is it overkill for a 07 Civic Sports?

    • +1

Somewhat, but it will be fun as I got these tyres and new rims for my old Mazda 6 06. Good grip in the rain and tight corners!

  • How much are these tyres ?

  • Took me 35k to wear through a pair of these on a IS250.

    • +1

Did you ever rotate the tyres or no?

  • These good for suv? Wife loves accelerating fast and breaking hard.

    • +1

Check the Bridgestone website to see whether they'll fit your model of vehicle. I don't believe RE003 tyres are designed as an SUV tyre. Check out the Falken FK510 SUV. I'm onto my 2nd set for my 2017 Ford Escape and they've performed incredibly well and last a long time too (Managed around 60,000km from my first set with some "spirited" driving.

    It sucks needing 205/45 R18 tyers 🙄

Might be a stupid question but could i fit 215/45 R18 tyers on, or is there no leeway as far as tires go?

    • Usually you are able to move about 10mm either way safely from the original OEM specs, so 215 should be fine.
If unsure, contact your local tyre shop and they can check the wheel specs of your car and tell you more precisely.

      • Ok thanks!

    • +1

I think you would be within the legal limit but you need to check with the authority.

You should note that by doing the above, the circumference of your tyre would be larger than factory setting. Thus you would be travelling a few KM more than what your speedo reads.

      • Did not think about it changing the speed, thanks for the info.

      • -6

        no it wont

      • +4

The NCOP (Section LS - 4.2.8) states you are allowed to go 30% wider than the maximum widest tyre fitted. So with a 205, you can effectively go all the way up to a 255/265. Rolling diameter must be no more than 15mm larger or 26mm smaller than what was designated for the vehicle.

It's 7mm bigger in rolling diameter which is 1.2% bigger. At 100km/h, you're doing 101.2km/h. The speedo would probably be out by more than this to be honest.
Should not have any issues in fitting it and is perfectly legal.

    • It should fit the wheel but depending on the car, it may rub the guard during mid corner bump (turning and hitting a bump at the same time).

  • Are these good on the subaru wrx? I currently have the Dunlop Maxx RT.

    • Click the link.. it specifically says WRX.

      • True, i didn’t even check. Haha

    • Yes, I would switch to these if I needed tyre change but my current set is only ~10,000 kms in

    • +1

Yep, I have them on my STI. They stick like glue in the wet. You'll notice a huge difference when cornering on these.

      • +1

Have you used the Maxx RT?

  • What would you guys recommend for a Toyota c-hr?

  • Great tyres

  • These are good tyres and used them before but good year is also doing buy 3 get 1 free so eagle f1 might be a better option

    • Where can I find that offer?

  • -1

If you are running 18" or smaller, there's no reason to get these over the PS4. PS4 is a way better tyre for a little more.

    • +1

$600 for these vs $1000 for PS4 in my size - obviously I chose the Bridgestone 👍

      • What size is that? For me in 235/40R18, there was hardly any difference in price so obviously I chose the PS4.

        • 205 45 17 - the Bridgestone were $200 each and I only had to pay for 3, the PS4 were $250 each and I had to pay for 4 !

          • @Nom: where are you getting that size for $200? im being quoted $230 a tire in 205/45/17

            • @JexL: Costco 👍

EDIT : I've just checked my cc account and I actually paid $690 so looks like I paid $230 per tyre not $200 as I said above 🤦🏼‍♂️

    • +1

I usually say the RE003s are 95% of the performance of the PS4 at 60% of the cost. Obviously there will be outliers depending on what size you need, but the PS4s are usually more expensive and the promotional discounts not as good.

  • I have a golf 2012 118tsi will these be good or is there any better choice available. Currently running Dunlop SP SPORT LM705.

    • +1

I've recently put these on a 2018 Golf R replacing stock P Zeros.

Road feeling is somewhat vague and steering feels a lot lighter compared to the Pirellis. Maybe need to run them in more.
Corner grip seems to comparable in the dry. Haven't really launched it, but at the lights seems to grip pretty good.
Road noise is quieter on the Bridgestones

  • Damn. Only needed 3. https://imgur.com/gallery/9Ma7K

    • 4th is for the spare 👍

  • Great set of rubbers.
    Highly recommended.

  • My current set of Bridgestone SuperCat in on 75,000 km. Looking to get the same pair soon.

  • Has anyone had experience with these tyres on a w204 c63? Currently using PS4 but tyres need replacing and these come in a few hundred cheaper. I searched online but couldn't see that anyone had used these before on this car.

  • Hi guys,

How do these tyres rate compared to MICHELIN Pilot Sport 4 S Sport Tyres. I was going for the Michelin but they're roughly about $450 per tyre. I prefer bang for buck.

    • Depends how you drive…

I can’t speak for that brand/tyre, but unless you are doing track days/racing then I can’t really see you needing more performance for the street.

(I have the RE003s on a RWD 400kw V8 and I average around 26-30L/100km so not exactly gentle on tyres, yet they handle the power pretty damn well).

You don’t mention what size you have, but if the Bridgestones are significantly cheaper I would say it’s worth it.

      • Running 265/35 zr19 98y. No tracking … probably flooring it here and there.

        Thanks

    • Should be ok for normal driving and also depends on the car.

The MICHELIN Pilot Sport 4 S Sport is a serious tyre, and if your car came with them from the factory, it's a serious car. The RE003 is better than 95% of tyres that are sold, but won't do that car justice.

      • Yea also v8 pumping around your car figures. Sweet, I'll snap these up then.

        Cheers

  • I'd rather have Kumho than some overpriced Bridgestones

    • +3

Which Kumhos are you referring to specifically? I can’t seem to find a model of Kumho that offers the same performance for significantly less cost?

Also, I’m not defending ALL Bridgestone tyres… my Dad has a set of the Turanza tyres and they were absolute crap… noisy, expensive, not much grip and didn’t actually last that long.

Like most brands in world, Bridgestone offer some good and some rubbish tyres. In this case the Potenzas offer pretty damn good performance for the price. If you know of another set of tyres that offer better value for money, please let us know.

  • Why we don't get such deals for 4wd tyres

  • +1

    RE003 is a good tyre. But….

I've bought them in 2016 with the buy 3-get 1 free & Bob Jane/AMEX promo. Those where the days.

However 5 years is a long time when it comes to tyre technology.

The replacements for the RE003- the RE004 has been out overseas since last year… come on Bridgestone, release the RE004 in Australia!

  • -2

Better off spending a bit extra and getting a set of PS4s

  • +1

Data point - the compound on the RE003s was changed at some point over the past few years. Lots of MX-5 guys used to rave about them as a road tyre, but any who have purchased recently (including those who had "older" RE003s) have said they have been subpar.

  • Any idea how these tyres compare to the Pirelli P-Zeros?
