Black tyre month sales. Might be useful to someone.
40% off Kumho Road Venture AT52 or Crugen HP71.
40% off Pirelli 18" and above. From $135.60 per tyre
Update: Pirelli is back to 40% off.

nope, looks like a good deal
Ngl $550 per tyre for a Pirelli at full RRP definitely sounds a bit suss.
Not that i'll buy Pirellis again. Good tyre for handling, sh1thouse for longevity.
Burnt through a set on a Kia Sportage within 20,000k's
Now on a set of Winruns and they've barely worn after 10,000k's
My p7c2 is currently on 60,000+ km. Still excellent on wet roads and I don't need to slow down much on the corners
@Mortin: I got P7 initial few weeks I was not happy with handling, then it became more stable, great ok wet surface, it's from 2020 from Tyroola, buy 3 get 4th free. I rotated my rears to front last year because I started losing grip on pickup. Amazing tyre. I'll buy again, if I couldn't find anything better.
@sqheaven: the p7c2s were not released until june 2021 so you probably have the first gen p7s. the p7c2s had very substantial improvements
@bumluffa: I said P7 lol I need new sets, waiting for a deal actually.. I'll probably get the same P7C2 this time.
Good tyre for handling, sh1thouse for longevity.
Softer rubbers are good at handling the road,
but by virtue of being softer, they wear out quicker.
( Michelins are the same: great tyres, but longevity is shorter )
@whyisave: Spot on. Handling and grip improve with softer compound, but longevity shortens.. I will stick with pirelli for now as they are good for their price
softer compound
which also meant, I got more punctures because of that, than tyres with hard(er) rubbers.
@whyisave: Not necessarily, Michelin has harder tyres too, they are very good
@whyisave: Hang on aren’t Michelin claim to have longevity but also soft compounds?
@Signet: Well, I didn't know about longevity, but I only have experience with 1 type of Michelins, and they're so good and grippy, but wears out faster.
I agree, mine were useless!!! One year and the front were worn out. I work in an Alpine ski resort and it involves a lot of winding roads and I do drive aggressively but never again. This is a large 4WD tho
Yea, you are right, the prices aren't as good as I thought tho looking at other shops, although I am looking at the Kumho pricing which isn't so bad and still the cheapest at the present time
@jackspratt: Is it bad that I can't tell if this is a real question or sarcasm?
Tyres are for grip and are the sole conection of the car to the road. Grip and handling are more important than longevity.
@Gazbo52: Yep 100% I prefer my pzeros I'm trying powerful but doesn't feel as grippy
That Kia Sportage is a beast and will burn through rubber willy-nilly.
@GregRust: My Escape has burned through the continentals hahaha. Not a SUV person but its a nippy car. Just hope the new tyres will last longer
You realise there is an inverse correlation between performance and longevity right? The more expensive brands should give you a better combination of performance and longevity but a tyre that handles well is still not going to last particularly long. Id rather the tyre performs well than lasting long.
Awesome deal, only about 7.5% more expensive than the Pirelli set I bought from Mycar during last year's BF promo
Talk aboit inflation
I guess they're under pressure to maximise profits.
You need to get a grip on these puns
@serpserpserp: Thought people would be tyred of the puns, but I guess they're gaining traction now.
Talk aboit inflation
A Goodyear to put downward pressure on inflation
Just wait for the actual Black Friday sale ,
i think it went for a few days at 50%off.
No, only on that day
Ok , if you say so.
@beach bum: I think Mortin said that based on what has happened in the past few Black Friday sale. So what makes you say this year's sale will go for a few days? Any evidence or link?
@edfoo: I remember it as I bought a 50%off set of yokos at Bridgestone last year.
@beach bum: OK thanks, we'll see if MyCar will have a sale lasting a few days this year and I will get back to you.
Hope mycar has the 50% off sale
Mycar's rrp is about 12% more expensive compared to the same Pirelli tyre from Bob jane. So a 10% more discount will not equate to 10% cheaper
I just compared the prices of Pirelli Scorpion AT Plus tyres, MyCar with 50% off will still work out to be cheaper than Bob Jane with 40% off.
Yes cheaper but not 10% cheaper
I got Pirelli P7C2s for my Mazda 3 last time with Mycar for about the same price. Really good tyres
I got the same, already done more than 60,000 km.
Had a puncture which was replaced for free and also had 6 rotation and balance so far
how much do you pay for rotation and balance?
$0 with Mycar
Sweet tx. I had to buy a new set last week but got busy. Should be a good Saving. Would have preferred Bridgestone but these should do.
Can anyone vouch for the Kumho at52? Need new tyres for my work ute.
Great LT tyre. Not as good as Yokohama Geolander AT range (esp in the wet) but otherwise a very good tyre and equivalent to the Falken Wildpeak series. They are a slightly heavier tyre than other ATs (won’t matter if a work Ute) but as solid builds. Have them on a Jimny and Challenger and they perform strongly overall.
And at 40% off this is killer value
what size did you get for your jimny? have you got a photo?
215 75 15
Pm me and I can send a pic
Jimny fb page has several people with these tyres as they are the only good commonly available tyre for that size outside of the notoriously exp KO2
Replaced Falken Wildpeaks earlier in the year with these. No complaints so far, slight improvement on road and no trouble during a big trip to the high country. Paid 1260 (265/65r18) with fitting and tyre disposal as part of a buy 3 get 1 free deal so this seems like a steal.
270 each at Tempe
Says Purchase a set of four (4) or more select Pirelli Car or SUV tyres, in one single transaction, 18" and above to receive 40% OFF but when you add 5 to the cart it only gives you 40% off four of them…
Price discount isn’t shooting the stars out, quite mediocre in the size I’m looking at.
Mine is about $500 savings. The cheapest alternative that was good was Bridgetones for about 1.6k. 4 Pirelli's would be 1.1k
Ling longs would have been 250 for 4
Does it include tyre replacement and disposal? Or we need to pay extra on top of it.
"Tyre prices include fitting, standard balance, valves and tyre disposal (Retail customers only. Excludes Trade & Fleet)." As quoted from my invoice.
Did they charge you $25 for 1 fitment and $38 for nitrogen on all 4 tyres?
Nope, no additional charges.
what are the "Eco friendly" variants?
Interested to see if anyone have had experience with the Pirelli SCORPION MS for my SUV, looks like a new range and not many reviews out there…
Just an update of the Verde All Season? Can't really tell much differences but also I know nothing about tyres.
The bobjane website is broken af. They need to fire who ever is designing / maintaining it.
Doesn’t even have one of the most common cars in it’s tyre finder, Mitsubishi Pajero Sport, and has an assortment of other models/variants that aren’t even sold here or are sold under a different model name here.
They probably pay a pretty penny to access the database that converts cars to tyre sizes, at least implement it for the correct market you’re operating in.
Entering your tyre size (and searching on car sales for it) would’ve taken less time than your rant here
It would probably take less lines of code than my rant to fix the problem. Also I’m a millennial, ranting is my job.
What tyre are you looking at?
I agree that somebody should be sacked.
When I went to the site, it popped up a message:
"Your web browser (Firefox 121) has a serious security vulnerability!
Update your browser for more security, speed and the best experience on this site."
There is no way that I'm going to click on a link on some random pop-up to update anything.
Krebs’s Number One Rule for Staying Safe Online: “If you didn’t go looking for it, don’t install it!” A great many online threats rely on tricking the user into taking some action — whether it be clicking an email link or attachment, or installing a custom browser plugin or application. Agreed, however, if you are actually on Firefox 121 which went EOL early this year you probably do actually have some serious vulnerabilities and need to update immediately, see https://www.mozilla.org/en-US/security/advisories/mfsa2024-5…
Tx OP. Got me some new rubber for a small fortune but still saved a bit
Good rubbers, saves lives.
And sometimes prevents lives
If it prevents lives once a year, its been a Good Year.
@hothed: Lol
Was looking at some off road tyres- $369ea, which means the original price was $620ea, what a joke!
Priced up a set of BF goodrich lately?
Those original price must have been jacked.
Just checking, you need to go a fair way through the checkout process before the discount appears.
Anyone used Pirelli P ZERO PZ4 RFT-XL?
I have to use RFTs because there's no spare tyre
P zeroes don't last long but they're really grippy
Any other suggestion on RFT tyres? Just looking for something good value and all rounder for comfort and quietness. I don't track or drive hard.
My sizes are :
Front 245/45 R20 103W XL
Back 275/40 R20 106W XL
Ah a fellow X3. You don't HAVE to use RFTs, you can just carry a tyre plug kit if you're willing to risk it, which is what I do. The ride quality and price & availability of tyres makes switching to non-RFTs worth it in my book.
@AlbiesDad: I'm also running a X3 xDrive30e so it's a PHEV. Not sure if any of the non RFTs will work with me since they might have to be XL tyres too?
What are you running on your X3?
@pepsicles: They almost all will, most of the tyres in our size have the 103 and 106 load rating, if not more. Me personally I run the Michelin Pilot Sport 4S EL (Extra Load, same as XL). Might be a bit much for you but they are supposed to have good tyre life and obviously excellent handling and braking performance. The one downside is high rolling resistance, reducing my fuel economy by about 5%.
@AlbiesDad: Do I also need to consider speed rating?
Once again, no plans to drive hard… apparently in the BMW summary app, I'm going an average of <30km/hr each month HAHA
@pepsicles: Nope, not at all. Our cars will probably be lucky to see past 130km/h during a spirited overtake, which any and all tyres available on the market can handle. A 'Y' speed rating is for 300km/h - not sure our cars will ever see that.
I always go to tempe tyres in Sydney for replacing tyres. Is this price more competitive? How much do they normally charge for fitting ?
For me Tempe is still cheaper
With this sale, it is cheaper than Tempe Tyres for the Pirelli Scorpion AT Plus tyres I am comparing.
Read some comments on Reddit that Tempe tyres are cheap because they are generally aged 'new' tyres?
As rubber has limited lifetime due to oxidation, even if not used on road, the rubber deteriorates (less effective in grip, wet handling)
Is this true about Tempe tyres in general?
@seek: No idea. I only read Tempe Tyres are grey import tyres. Does that mean the grey import tyres are different from Australian stock tyres?
Can anyone please suggest me between flat run type and non flat run type for my gla180? TIA.
So I booked and got an email this morning but it shows an addition $25 for fitment of 1 wheel and then $38 for nitrogen on all 4 wheels.. this seems wrong right
No not right
It's not not wrong
Was going to pull the trigger on Tyres sales buy 4 and pay for 3 on some Pirelli scorpions, but this deal saved me another $200. Good deal at $250 per corner for Pirelli runflats.
Could anyone suggest a good set of tyres to replace the Continental CroosContact RX 235/55/R19 on my Kia Carnival
They have done 45k but are now bald on the sides… I am looking at the Pirelli SCORPION VERDE™ (A0) 235/55R19 101W (ECO) but not sure if that's the same quality type?
Cool, 40% off, and still only $111 (35%) more expensive per tyre than Tyroola who doesn't have any specials running on a couple of Pirellis.
I'm paying $1285 + $79 for wheel alignment. They did screw up a fitment of $25 but said sorry they didn't know about the 40% off deal and just assumed it was buy 3 get 1 free and they will be doing the nitrogen of $39 for free because of this. With Tyroola it comes to $1765 for the same tyre with alignment and fitment. Sorry but this is an awesome deal from the OP
Yeah I got the pirellis for my model 3
Cheaper than everywhere else for 4
Was $1053 inc fitting etc
Everywhere else was $1200-$1400 so good deal for me tbf
Which Pirelli tyres did you get for your Tesla Model 3?
@edfoo: These ones :
Pirelli Cinturato P7™ 235/40
R19 96W
Cheers OP :)
Was able to price match with My Car as I needed to get the brake pads replaced too.
Is Jack back.
