  • It looks like the %off stacks with the buy 4 get 1 free?!

    • +1

I cant get it to stack. If I add 4 tires, it applies the 35% discount.

If I only add 3 tires to my cart, it doesnt apply the 35% dicount. Cant even see it add the extra tire at checkout as mentioned

    • How do you get the buy 4 get 1 free deal?

      • +1

On some of the tires, it says add 3 to your cart and the 4th will be added free at checkout. But I cant seem to get it to work

  • +1

Just say this in the conditions "The offer cannot be claimed in conjunction with any other offer or promotion." so I dont think it will

  • +3

price is cheaper at tempe tyres

    • Which ones?

      • Yokohama

        • Limited sizes it seems

  • are these better than the kumho equivalents?
dont want pirellis they wear too quick, but do care about safety, grip & longevity.

    • I have the Yokohama V701s at the moment. Nice and stable even in the wet, with pretty decent grip. I'd say Continental Premium/Max Contacts have the edge though (so at this price I'd still probably go with the Contis). Having said that I'm comparing Contis on a Mazda 3 vs the Yokos on a Mazda 6 (250kg heavier with the same engine).

V601 are supposed to be the super premium, sporty option, haven't tried them yet.

    • My current set of Pirelli P7C2 is on over 62,000km. Bought it last December and still have much better wet grip than the Michelin Primary 4 I had previously

      • 62000kms in a year?

        • In 8 months, was overseas for 2 months

  • +4

The best tyre brand as far as I'm concerned. High mileage, great wet weather performance and quiet.
Like them so much on my Subys I had work put Yokies on my iLoad :D

    • Which ones would you recommend on a Subi?

      • +1

If you're doing much dirt or off-road driving I recommend the G015 A/T. Awesome tyres.

      • +1

Currently have ADVAN Fleva V701 on my 6cyl Lib.

  • Bit annoying how they charge 3x$25 for fitting on their buy 3 get 4th free promo

    • As per my comment below.
"All Tyre prices* include fitting, balance, tubeless valves+, GST & Tyre disposal"
And with the Buy 3 get 1 Free. It should be only 1x$25 for that free tyre.

      • Oh true I misread it. I think they're the only tyre shop that charges that for the free tyre on these buy 3 get 4th free promos. Correct me if I'm wrong again though.

      • -1

Bought 5 x Yoko G051s last year on the 3/4 deal. BJ Tmarts Belconnen ACT gave me 25% off all 5, free fitting, balancing and disposal. Best to ring your local dealers and get their very best deal. It's important to compare their normal price with other sellers because you may find a better deal elsewhere (eg Tempe in Sydney). While you're negotiating your total price you should also enquire about the tyre manufacture date. Generally speaking I wouldn't accept anything older than 6 months, preferably half that or better.

Not sure where you got the idea that they charge for fitting etc for the "free" tyre but I can assure you they don't and I've never heard of anyone offering that deal who does.

        • +1

Not sure where you got the idea that they charge for fitting etc for the "free" tyre

It's literally advertised on the promotion?

          • +1

@CVonC: Ah, apologies. They must be feeling the economic pinch if they've resorted to that gouge because Yokohama gives them a 25% discount on all their purchases/sales during the promotion period. None of the other participating dealers have stooped to that penny pinching.

  • Can someone confirm if this deal also includes fitting, balancing and tyre disposal or is there an additional fee like the buy 3 get 4th tyre free promo?

Update: Just checked their catalogue and it does state: "All Tyre prices* include fitting, balance, tubeless valves+, GST & Tyre disposal"

  • I wish they stocked the good tyres, a050 in soft. But no… they are somehow special. +1 for the deal though.

  • Waiting for Michelin deal.

    • Michelin casback deals are on. They don't do good discounts like 40-50% off, at least not that i have ever seen.

      • I know but, they are not my tyres.

  • Geolander or Kumho for the Prado 🤔

    • I’m going the Kumho AT52 for my 4wd. LT variant of course

    • +1

Did a lot of research last year. Got down to three options for my Kakadu 265/60R18: Toyo OC AT3 (exe), Falken Wildpeak AT3W, Yoko G015 (new version). Went with the LT spec Geolandar, about $350 each iirc.

Some info on your Kumho choice you may not have found:

        Cheers mate super helpful info.

Was thinking something more aggressive than the g015 since I’ll be switching sets of wheels. One set has Highway Terrains

        • +1

Makes sense, although I'm not sure the Kumhos are much more aggressive than the G015 in practice. They seem to be very well priced given ratings on Tirerack, not sure why I didn't consider them. I was surprised at the numerous user reports praising the G015's off road grip. The LT Yoko (119S) has stronger sidewalls and more tread depth than its little brother the 110H.

In the end everything's a compromise and driving skill, tyre deflation etc can more than compensate for minor tyre deficiencies in most situations, esp with all the modern electronic driving aids. Hard core off road is a different story, usually requiring muddies even in the dry. Kakadu has crawl, which is basically nuts - point and steer. Throttle and braking are managed by the ECU

You probably saw this : https://unsealed4x4.com.au/all-terrain-tyres-buyers-guide/ Take it with a grain of salt but gives an idea of some of the "AT" alternatives.

          • +1

@Igaf: Yeah mate the LT G015 seemed like the best all rounder when I did my research too so you made the right choice, seems to be great on and off road.

That’s a great review actually cheers for that. I think it’s a toss up between the Kumho and Yoko g016 just for that extra off road performance and looks of course haha

            • @yaozy: Just stumbled on a buy 3 get 1 free deal on the Kumho AT52 at Tyres and More . Might be worth pricing up.

Also saw a similar deal on the Falken Wildpeak at Tyrepower (usually expensive ime).

For anyone who isn't aware, both Yokohama and Falken usually run these 3/4 deals twice a year - roughly April and Oct-Nov. Yoko does these 3/4 deals across the calendar year, with different tyres featuring.

              • @Igaf: Ended up with the AT52's. So far a very quiet and comfortable ride.

  • Ordered some Geolanders! Great price & just when I need some. Thanks OP!

  • Does Bob Jane price match with Tempe Tyres?

  • This deal was working earlier tonight but doesn't seem to work anymore for me? Anyone else?

  • The thing thats holding me back is they don't offer a damage/repair warranty on yoko's (or most other good brands), - only on their "we have yoko's at home" brand. I usually buy goodyear from goodyear for their total care warranty. But its not like I can buy yoko's from yoko.

I guess I'm just surprised there is no way to get that protection/warranty on yoko or other non home brand tyres. Surely there is a market for it, and surely it pays for itself from a supplier viewpoint? Or maybe it doesn't? I have already "paid for" my goodyear warranty by getting one puncture fixed for free.

  • I was looking at the Geolandar A/T G015 265/65R17 112H last night after this deal was posted and they were $326. Today they are $348.

    • +1

Possibly new stock? Easy enough to ring them and see what price they'll do. Mention the price you saw obviously. If you don't ask……

Any reason you want the 112H? For almost the same price you can get the 120/117R which has 5/32" deeper tread, and significantly higher load and speed ratings. Thy do weigh about 4kg more per corner tho - due to stronger sidewalls and extra tread.

      • I don’t know a lot about tyres and was just going by the price. However, based on your comments, I will definitely consider 120/117R. Thanks.

        • +1

120/117 is only $3 more before discount. No brainer imo.

Read my post above before you buy: https://www.ozbargain.com.au/comment/15938927/redir

If you do buy, make sure you get the Yoko Road Hazard Certificate BJ will also do the first tyre rotation for you. Should add, ask them to torque up your wheel nuts to your vehicle spec. Not rare for the fitter to forget to change the gun settings and overtighten so much you'll need a rattle gun to budge them. Eg Prado 150 values are 103NM for alloy wheels and 112NM for steel wheels. GL whatever you choose.

  • +1

Absolutely perfect timing for me, thanks OP

  • Yokohama 235/65R18 106V Geolandar show $437 (40% off) while Tempe Tyre or Tyroola only $240? Am I missing something?

  • Just ordered some 235/50r18 Pirelli, got a call told no stock and tried to upsell from 741 to 948. I asked for a refund. pretty poor form.
