Party seems to be over for <= $10 items. Only managed to place 9 orders :(

    • Guess check out?

      • Yep

        • Did you just keep doing +1 on the same email?

      • No more guest checkout is appearing now

        • The guest was good while it lasted but now have to look up details of my 30+ ac's .
Anyway to the Afterpay people looking should I buy put options on your brilliant management lol :)

          • @popsiee: Actually I had to switch to incognito on mobile chrome browser and it's alive again!

    • which items bought?

      you got 9 accounts?

      • No, just used guest checkout. Bought a bunch of the stuff listed here and then a few things on my watchlist.

    • +2

should change your username to eBayroden

  • Does afterpay normally have promo for first time checkout like latitude pay e.g $20 off $x spend?

since the <$10 hack is now no longer working
don't want to waste my afterpay first time checkout on this $10 off promo..
if a more higher discount might be promoted later on.

  • +1

So ebay fixed the gift card loophole only to open this 🤣🤣🤣

    • +2

How did the GC loophole work?

      • You just tick Afterpay then pay with ebay digital gift cards for the full amount

        • In a nutshell with the 10% off Ebay Cards going at the time and 20% Afterpay code being 28% off most Ebay items provided covered by giftcards ( $700 max )
I max out nearly everything I had :)

          • @popsiee: Noce

          • @popsiee: 10% off ebay gift card?? Where could those be purchased from?

            • @F1ProjectOne: This wwek Woolworths swap giftcard, buy $100 get 2000 rewards point, which is equivalent to $10

    • Admittedly the gift card loop hole held a lot more punch on monster purchases than this one .

      • why?
how much can you get discount on that deal?

  • Has anyone found a wireless car charger with smart sensor? Been looking to buy one for a while and have tried many different items but none seem to have the afterpay discount available.

Got some feather blades to try out in my shiny Muhle R41

  • This is crazy!

  • Guest checkout still working for me!

    • How did you do it?

  • +1
  • Worked on item under $10 for me logged in via web

  • PSA: Guest checkout for items under $10 working again.

    • Can't get it to work, do you put same mobile number?

      • +1

Nah, just a random number. I usually go 0499 999 and then 3 random numbers so some poor random person doesn't get spammed.

        • does guess checkout still work via the web?

          • @pinkybrain: Does for me.

            • @[Deactivated]: i meant for <$10 item

or are you talking about >$10 items?

              • @pinkybrain: Only just saw this, sorry. Doesn't work at all anymore for <$20 items.

                • @[Deactivated]: does afterpay ever offer any higher discount than $10 off for first time customers?

don't want to waste any such deals now that the <$10 hack is gone.

                  • @pinkybrain: Yeh, I think they do. I personally refuse to sign up, I think it's predatory.

  • I grabbed a HDD case for old HDD to as hard drive.

    • Already shipped apparently after 20 minutes. Probably last bulk sent to Auspost before close.

      • Probably assigned tracking number by eBay and seller marked as shipped.

Item likely just sitting in a pile waiting for post office on Monday.

      • +1

When sellers buy shipping labels via EBay, they are automatically marked as posted as soon as the labels are paid for. They are not actually posted until you see something like “received by post office” in tracking.

      • Update: It just got delivery. Didn't realised it came with a cable as well so happy.

Tried guest checkout and ended up with this

MC113 Your eBay account has been permanently suspended

    Hello #####,
Your eBay account has been permanently suspended because we noticed activity that we believe is a risk to our community.

    • How many orders did you do?

      • About 10 minutes after second order, order cancelled too.

        • did you use the same real name/phone numb as your other real account ?

how would they ban a guess account/checkout?

or did they banned your main account?

          • @pinkybrain: Maybe because you need have it delivered somewhere?

Guest checkout from incognito session in browser.

          • @pinkybrain: Prob matching to email, and/or some other credential. Not too hard.

            • @[Deactivated]: well address would not be faked unless he knows of many properties to send the item to

              • +1

@pinkybrain: Haha. Be generous and send a gift to each one of the neighbours.

    • +1

Did your main account get banned too?

    • Did you get this message on website at the time of guest order or afterwards by email? How soon after order.

    • You made a second account using guest checkout?

    • F

    • @DainB Like others, curious as to how many orders you placed? Were they confirmed first and then cancelled? Did your main account get blocked?

      • I already said above, second order via guest checkout. It was showing confirmed and was cancelled about 10 min afterwards.

  • Guys you do realise that you have to ship it to the same location and the ERP will pick up on that if there is excessive orders - especially under the same name. Be careful, I got my family to use their real accounts for the deal to not get anything flagged. Also use a VPN if you think of abusing.

    • +1

A VPN is honestly how you get flagged hard from what I've had to deal with. With the eBay UK deals, my non VPN accounts worked just fine yet my VPN accounts pretty much all got banned. Was a headache just for 20% off gift cards to get refunds on them.

      • -1

I pretty sure those checking out via guest don't really care and are spamming in hopes some of the items are fulfilled.

        • but those people have real ebay accounts
so those would get banned since they use the same address for guest

          • -1

@pinkybrain: Could just send to neighbors on the street and chat with them later for it up for them.

Sorry… I think I sent something to your address by mistake.

One of my neighbors has that arrangement as they work as nurse.

    • What is ERP?

      • +1

Enterprise Resource System what connects to databases and streamlines the communication between nodes.

  • -1

I just got CAPTCHA'd after my 14th order, time to stop me thinks.

    Also got this

We can't apply this code until you reach the minimum order total.

    • +1

Change device and party on .

      • Nah, don't wanna get too greedy and have everything cancelled.

        • what did you order? just out of curiosity

          • @t0087669: Cables, masks, bbq equipment, kitchen equipment, bluetooth connectors, and other misc goods.

        • +5

Don't want to be greedy after 14 orders?

          • -2

@Clear: How is it greedy? You're acting like I'm taking straight out of your hand rather than from a billion $ corporation.

            • +2

@[Deactivated]: It's a question. There's none of this acting you're speaking of. So a different question then. If it was a small company offering a free sample, would you order one freebie or would you attempt to get multiple?

              • @Clear: Just the one, unless I decide to order one for my parents too (assuming it's something I know they would be interested in trying)

            • @[Deactivated]: It's a good point there, but when 1000s of people do the same in a short frame of time, the red flag comes up pretty quickly and ebay will put a stop to it.

              • +1

@Buy2Much: Yep we don't want to end up like this guy.

                • @Clear: Wow, that's a bit heavy handed, suspended on (allegedly) the 2nd order ;-)

              • @Buy2Much: It took them 4 hours to put a stop to it. That's plenty of time for everyone to get in on it.

    • +1

Got the same. Below $10 party is truly over.

    • I admire your honesty :)

  • +6

We can't apply this code until you reach the minimum order total.

    • Its still alive in my favourite zone $10.05 - $11 .

  • +3

Hahahaha you can never trust the OzB community, great reading this thread

  • +4

    Min purchase is now $20

The offer entitles you to $10 off the purchase price (excluding postage costs) on Eligible Items, when you spend $20+ and check out using Afterpay during the Offer Period. A maximum discount of $10 per transaction applies. Multiple items may be purchased in 1 transactions (up to a maximum of 10 items per transaction).

    • Not as much juice as before but I can still use it no problems .

  • +1

They bloody changed the min purchase as I was using code, now I am stuck with something with an accepted offer but I can't use coupon on.

  • +1

This code was much better a few hours ago :)

  • +1

    Party over

    • Seriously so you can't find anything on Ebay for $10 for a $20 + item .

      • Don't want to signup afterpay

        • K so the has party always been over .

          • +3

@popsiee: an hour ago you can get $10 free item without afterpay

            • @superforever: No problem I forgot about the free zone where Afterpay not required .

            • @superforever: Assuming you're willing to pay something, you can offset the amount using a gift card as partial payment, thereby still avoiding afterpay and still getting the $10 discount
