was only added today, so given they batch send out emails I would expect you'll receive an email on it later today if eligible.
You have to select opt in to exclusive Qantas member benefits in order to receive it. Just enabled mine.
Was that under "Qantas Frequent Flyer email subscriptions"?
@ganjadeals: Yeap there
Received the $50 voucher today. Valid for 12 months.
@UrMumsOnlyFan: Yeah me too.
I might take this up. Where in Australia can I go that has cheap accommodation and cheap car rental?
Sydney and Adelaide. If it helps I was able to do Melbourne-Sydney in Biz via Adelaide for 128SC utilising the double status credit.
Is there a way to see exactly how many SC you would get for each booking? I try to find a calculator but no luck. There's only a table.
I use this: https://www.qantas.com/au/en/frequent-flyer/earn-points/airl…
and this: http://www.gcmap.com/
Plug in the airport code in Great Circle Mapper and select distance and it'll tell you how many miles. Then use the table and booking class to determine how many SC you get.
alternatively go somewhere where you don't need car rental, if you're looking at a city break for example.
Also not a terrible time to visit say, Uluru - fly into Alice Springs, cheap accom, and get a tour out there. Might be a bit cold at night - I did it during an April long weekend and was ok.
With Platinum One status if you don't meet the required status credit do you get bumped down to Platinum or to Gold?
I believe you just get stepped down. So Platinum the next year, then Gold after that etc.
Should be soft landing from P1 to P.
@nightelves, can you share how much it cost you in dollars or points? I’m switching allegiance to Qantas and need 100SCs by July for their status match program.
The double SC offer is decent as it includes classic reward bookings. Ends at 11:59pm tonight and doesn't require any activation/registration.
With cancellation/change fees currently waived for classic rewards, I cancelled a few and rebooked. Unfortunately refunds take several weeks and the points and money don't necessarily return at the same time, so tracking different cancellations can be a bit annoying.
In the past bonus SCs would normally appear within a couple of working days, though the T&Cs allow for six weeks. I'm still waiting after a week and hoping this isn't going to be a headache with classic reward bookings.
Wait Points Club members get $50 hotel voucher? How does one access that?
