Bought one today. Pretty decent for the price. OK, but not outstanding for photos. Great for text or web printouts etc .. WiFi works well with iPhone. The only thing that is different from the $179 WF645 that office-works sells is the inability to do duplexing in scanning or printing/faxing. All other features are identical.

You get a also get a full set of standard inks with it instead of the "starter" inks with lower volumes that many printers come with these days.

    Bargain!

    • Hi

Does this have a scanner also?

      Thanks :)

I was going to berate you for not reading the OP or the link, but I'll be damned, they don't mention the scan function in their little Overview blurb.

        Yes, it scans.

Picked up one of these when they were on sale last time, fairly decent printer for the price. We don't use it much but when we do does exactly what we need it to!

  • Probably a daft question but can you print over wifi from a Laptop??

And @spazmodic did you print photos onto HQ Photo paper and tweak the settings?

Im looking for a half decent multifinction printer with wifi and paper that loads into the front for around $100-$150 Max, anyone know any others that are decent?

So long as that laptop has an Operating System supported by the printer, yes.

I only printed the photo (from iPhone) on basic copier paper so you cant expect much. It will print via Wifi from anything that has access to the network and drivers. Will see if I can do a photo print properly if I can get some paper. Got to figure out where I hid it … lol

Just did a 4x6 Glossy Photo print - Not Bad at all! Much better than I was expecting actually, given the result on plain paper. Not quite up to the pro level you would get at a print shop but certainly good enough to frame around your home.

Would be nice to be able to rear load the photo paper or have a separate drawer for it, as it was a bit of a pain having to remove the plain paper before loading the photo paper in. As far as I can tell there is no rear feed. What can you expect for $99 though!

Now that the big retailers do their utmost to not stock the same stuff as the other big retailers so that they don't get into price guarantee traps, it's so hard to tell if these prices are any good or not.

  • I picked up a Levono just last week with Windows7 so that's all good.
    Thanks;o)

Ok. Word of advice - AVOID EPSON PRINTERS LIKE THE PLAGUE.

    • Each Epson cartridge has a counter on it, making it impossible to refill.
    • Think you can print with another colour once another has run out? Nope, Epson sabotages your printer and makes you buy the missing colour before you can print again.
    • Epson ink is frikkin expensive.
    • They have terrible technical support.

$99 is too much for a glorified door-stop.

Unless you get a chip resetter tool you can't refill it yourself, but if you take it to a refill place they'll have the tool and reset it for you.

Actually … The genuine ink set is cheaper than the Canon printer I replaced. The Extra High Capacity set can be had for $75-$80 if you look around. You can buy much cheaper non-genuine cartridges however and they have a chip installed to fool the printer. approx $30 for a High Capacity set or $50 for two sets. Less if you get even more.

      All printers are like this.

  • Is this work with Android? or only Apple.

    • There is an App for Android devices as well. (Just installed it on my Acer Iconia tablet). Also has "cloud print" which works well too.

  • Well I might have to get one, I think I'll have a quick look at Ink Refill costs first but so far it's sounding like a decent printer for 99 bucks.

  • Me too, it's what I need as we have become isheep so AirPrint is what I'm after.

  • Great features for the price. Can buy the ink cheap from eBay. I bought one and very happy.
