      Thats a 3.5 not a 2.5"

    • +10

sigh, there's ALWAYS at least one person who post 3.5" deal on a 2.5" deal

      • +1

        my bad :(
        sigh…

        • meeeeeeeeeoow!

      • So what is the difference between 3.5 and 2.5? Sorry for my ignorance.

        • +1

The size of the drive (generally referred to in inches, i.e. 3.5 inch drives and 2.5 inch drives). The 3.5" drives are not only physically larger and heavier, but usually (always?) require a power adapter.

  • AnyOne used this brand before ?

yeah back in the late 90s with the Iomega Zip Disks :)

Don't forget the Jazz drive too

…and the Ditto tape drive! :)

    • yep, nothing wrong with it. it uses a samsung drive. well my 500g one is anyway

If you can live without USB3. This is 1.5TB for $129 http://dicksmith.com.au/product/XM2196/seagate-expansion-por…

  • All of a sudden, Catch of the Day deals seems better than the other dodgy deals.

    • difference is in a CoTD deal, CoTD are the seller. For spreets, groupon, ouffer et al, the seller is a 3rd party, and as we have found out recently, quite possibly a dodgy one.

      Unfortunately its still COTD

  • the 3 year warranty ain't bad.

    • +3

Yeah, that way it might still be in-date when the drive finally gets to you! :p

  • COTD has always delivered for me. I use an Iomega 1TB portable now and it's been great. Paid $99 for it a while back.

  • If it helps, IOMEGA is now an EMC Corporation company which is well known for its storage products (largest storage company). 3 years of warranty is a +. Since 2008 you would have seen a lot of changes in its product line if you would have followed it.

Clarification: I am an EMC employee, these are just my personal views. Not a rep either.

    • Does not mean anything on consumer storage products. EMC specializes in corporate storage.
