Gaming PC with R5-3600, RTX 3070, B450 DS3H MB, 240GB SSD, 16GB 3200MHz RAM, 750G PSU: $2188 + Delivery @ TechFast

3600-3070-MAY

Hi folks

One look at the market tells you what type of pricing environment we're currently in - disty buy prices on 3070 rose $200 in a single week/shipment, and all other components are rising too. We've done our absolute best to strip down this deal to its basics while offering upgrade options for those seeking them. A 750 Gold PSU is offered because we have excess supply of Giga and MSI units, and their price over the 650 Bronze for the quantity we bought was negligible so 650B wouldn't reduce price by any, so call it a free upgrade!

For those interested, we expect based on manufacturer and distributor discussions that prices will continue to rise 5-10% each month for probs the next 3 months so we don't think we've seen the highest prices on parts yet.

AMD Ryzen 5 3600 | RTX 3070 8GB Gaming PC: $2188 after 3600-3070-MAY

  • AMD Ryzen 5 3600 6c/12t processor
  • RTX 3070 8GB GPU (MSI, Giga, Galax in use)
  • Gigabyte B450 DS3H motherboard (various B550 and X570 upgrades available - B550 WiFi is MSI Pro VDH, X570 is X570-A Pro, X570 WiFi is Giga Aorus Elite WiFi)
  • 16GB 3200MHz (2x8; brand/model may vary)
  • 240GB 2.5" SSD OS drive (for those bringing their own storage; higher capacity needed for gaming; upgradeable on website)
  • 750W 80 Plus Gold PSU (Gigabyte and MSI being used)
  • Lance-V RGB ATX 3-intake fan case

If there are any specific CPU/GPU config requests we'll happily take a look at them this month.

Updates:

Lots of 6700 XT, 3060 and 3070 orders around the 14-20ish business days are in build to be shipping this week.
The first big batch of Galax 3080s arrived and have started going out. More MSI cards plus others of different brands/models confirmed in-bound too, so customers will be offered them as they arrive, according to the Galax or MSI order queue position. We are getting there.

Cheers
Luke

For anyone considering purchasing this, keep in mind Scorptec restocks 3070s every couple of days for around $1300. This was in stock today for $1349.

      • Yeah I have got absolutely no idea where this 1799 figure is coming from. Even cards on ebay/marketplace are cheaper than that.

  • +2

Ouch, those price rises! Fully understand it's industry-wide, from manufacturers and suppliers down, not your discretion, but ouch nonetheless!

While still available the techfast no GPU deal and Dell deals are suddenly looking more attractive

  • +3

Will this run the Sims 4???

    • +2

      yes

  • +11

No deal - 10770 with 3080 from dell far better deal

    • -8

Unobtanium now though? Pretty sure they were clearing 10th gen.

      • +7

yes i bought 6 to mine unobtainium. I can sell you the 6 cases without GPUs to resell as techfast PCs. How does $500 per computer box sound?

      • +9

BTW - I purchased the AMD 2600 580x deal from you ages ago.

You scammed me with the biostar rx580, that is actually an RX570 but bios flashed to appear as an RX580.

You also scammed me when my USB2.0 ports on the biostar motherboard stopped working, and you wanted me to send you the board to get inspected to make sure I didn't damage it. Frankly it wasn't worth the hassle and I replaced the board myself.

        • -5

I can only assume you're referring to the Biostar RX 580 2048SP, which we ourselves were unaware of any issues with until it got picked up by the press when systems had already gone out. On the mobo, there is a process that needs to be followed which yes does include check for physical damage. Any fault would have been honored under warranty if you had opted for the process.

          • +1

@luketechfast: Yes, my system came with a dead on arrival VA5805RV82. You then sent me a Biostar RX 580 2048SP, which I discover some months later to be an RX570.

Would you like to swap my RX570 for an RX580 now please?

            • +12

@Pandabargain: Sure, at face value, if that is what happened then you are entitled to the correct product. Please email the team via [email protected] and we'll look into it for you.

              • -1

@luketechfast: Thanks Luke, I have emailed the address as requested with details provided to continue the process. Look forward to hearing back from you, or another member of the techfast team shortly.

                • +31

@Pandabargain: Wtf, you found an issue with the product sent to you, and instead of bringing the issue to the attention of the retailer to see how they would resolve the problem, you post on OzBargain instead?

How entitled are you to think that TechFast can read your mind?

Granted, TechFast should have brought the issue to the attention of anyone that had been inadvertently sent an affected "RX580", so the fact that your team didn't do this automatically is a red flag as well, Luke.

Neither side is free from fault.

                  • @CrushJelly: Are you saying they should be called TechScam?

                  • +8

@CrushJelly: Acknowledged, that was a sh!tty situation all round. We didn't have the processes in place for that then at the size and infrastructure we were at, but we do now.
To clarify further: very few of these cards were ever used as RX 580s, as we received them and the news hit the press around the same time and they were immediately removed from assembled systems or those in pick. We would not have ordered them had we known or Biostar been up front about their true nature.
It is likely that the customer above received one as a DOA replacement as soon when they came in, simply out of human error.

                • +1

@Pandabargain: Received and looking into, thanks.

                  • +2

@luketechfast: Ah wtf, will check my RX580 system as well now. Techfast should have contacted everyone once this was known to them. That's completely poor business practice on their behalf and as per Luke's comment above, they were made aware of the issue. Shocking.

I've purchased two systems from Techfast and have recommended them to others but after this and a previously unanswered question regarding adequate cooling for a 3070, never again.

                    • +6

@anarky: If I missed a question on a post it would not have been intentional - I don't get notified of every comment and we get a lot. Happy to answer it if it still needs one and overall I believe my commitment to service on here is demonstrable.
If you have an issue with your RX 580, we'll sort it out, but as I clarified above very few of these cards saw the light of day and it would have been human error for the OP that we of course will rectify.

                      • @luketechfast: umm this is the first I am hearing about this Rx580 issue!! I purchased a RX580 build 2 years ago, is there a chance that card isn't actually a RX580??!! what is the easiest way to check? pretty poor if my build is in fact a RX570 and I was not notified.

                        • @BMX221: I also got a RX580 build - How would I know which card was provided? - EDITED was a RX570build.

Also no hate from me Luke - You guys have done two great builds for me and ill still recommend yas

                          • @Mozzlah: did some research, and it looks like my RX580 card is all good, just freaked out a little when I heard this.

    • I'm looking to play the Sims 4, will that one run Sims 4 better than this deal?

  • +5

Wow. Crazy prices. So glad I was able to get a system from you guys before the recent price insanity. So far so good.

  • That sucks about more price rises but im super happy to be able to come pick up my 3080 system soon. Glad i stuck in the queue over 3 months im sure it will be well worth it and amazing value.

  • +3

The same PC with a better motherboard and twice the SSD capacity was over $700 cheaper from you guys just 3 months ago. This is pretty bad value with and without the discount.

    • +1

I mean that's more an issue with parts availability and distributers jacking up the price.

    • I can’t even find a 3070 in stock at that price, let alone an entire system.

For what is on the market right now, this is a good price. Yes the dell eBay deal is cheaper but that’s a bargain with proprietary parts.

  • +7

Don't mind the negs, you gotta give end users a couple of weeks to adjust to the price hikes :( this is a solid price considering the stock issues, price hikes, forced bundles, and high demand we are facing.

    • +6

      The pain is real

    • dont worry guys, I dont even know how you bother with this mob here, they were all crying how 6800 xt for $1400 was way too expansive 3 months ago and how 3070s over 1k were a no go…look at where we are now

  • +10

Tempted to neg for the fact it took me 3 weeks and several emails to finally get a refund after waiting 3+ months for no PC.

    • +2

i wonder why they still have + vote

      • +4

        Techfast fan boi

    • +4

Can luketechfast please respond to this comment, I have issued a refund a week ago but am willing to give it another weeks wait before raising the alarm. How come it takes techfast so long to process refunds?

      • Happy to look into it for you so I would need an email address via PM or order number to look it up - they are processed by Operations and normally within 7 business days. We had a change in both website platform and Merchant Services provider recently which may have resulted in a delay, for which Operations apologises! If you need escalation on a request that's the kind of thing I can help with here or via email.

  • +7

the Dell with 10700F and 30700 is still available at $1999,…. admittedly almost $200 more than in the past..

    https://www.ebay.com.au/itm/393065280709?hash=item5b848434c5…

    8 core / 16thread processor.

    1tb SSD and
    Genuine WIndows 10 Home..
looks like AC wireless is included as well.. and moue and keyboard..

    • +2

The mouse and keyboard are pretty much ewaste but everything else are good points

    • As I know nothing about gaming PC’s.. is this a better option?

      • depends, it has a heap of value but some huge caveats.

being that nothing is really upgradable/resalable down the line nor replaceable with like for like parts (ie it all needs to be dells specific units for that type of build). The case is IMO ugly but does have great IOs. The proprietary GPU, AIO unit for the CPU, motherboard (although a pretty decent spec (not sure if it can even take an m.2 drive or multiple PCIE 4.0s) are all issues for swapping parts or tinkering.

If you want a set and forget system that is close to current peak technology for a good price and with dells good to great CS then go alienware. If you want to get into building PCs buy parts yourself if you are somewhere inbetween go with one of the prebuilders like techfast, titan tech or virco.

edit: a $30 (ethical) windows license is not something anyone should base a PC purchase on, you do not need to activate win10 (typed from an unactivated win10 TF build :)

        • Thanks mate. More inclined to go pre-built at the moment - just don’t wanna be spending roughly $2k on a pre-built with parts I’ll wanna be swapping out in short time.

          • +1

@mlomb91: If you're worried about longetivity, I think the Dell linked above is a good deal for a prebuilt from a well known/reputable manufacturer.

But if you want upgradability options and off the shelf parts, the Techfast deal is a better path.

Depends realistically how likely are you to tinker/upgrade piece by piece.

            • @jace88: Thanks! Just confused on which GPU would be best for me!

        • you do not need to activate win10

Can you elaborate about $30 licenses and/or unactivated win10 licenses? When I look, they cost $200.

    • +3
      • Is this upgradeable if I ever wanted to upgrade parts in the future?

        • +1

Kinda. Can add more RAM (has 4 slots) and upgrade SSD/HDD, and the graphics card, but its in a dead socket (12th gen intel will use a new socket, and the 11700K is close to best-in-class for the chipset as it is).

If I was looking for a high end GPU in this market, i would buy the XPS, pull the CPU, and GPU, buy an ASRock Z590m-Pro4, a new PSU, a new SSD, new RAM, a new CPU cooler and a new case, and transplant all the bits over. I'd then drop an i3 10100 into the XPS and flog it off on gumtree as an "office machine". That is what many people appear to be doing (just search gumtree/facebook MP for "XPS 8940"!)

          • @xyron: Appreciate the info mate! All seems abit too technical for my small mind haha. I won’t be gaming on it 24/7.. just looking for something that’ll run most games smoothly and be a part time office machine as I was looking at getting a Mac but thought if I’m gonna spend that sort of money may aswell get something I can game on.

            • @mlomb91: Then get the XPS and use it as it is, its a more than capable machine. some complaints about them running hot when under load but not so bad that it'll crash or become unstable. Worst case scenario, if doing heavy gaming/processing on a hot day, take the side panel off.

          • +1

@xyron: What isn't a dead socket right now? There is no confirmation that AM4 will get another generation. If AMD and Intel jump on DDR5 it is highly likely new processors will use new sockets.

            • @g1: Entirely fair point. But there's still a better chance that we'll get one more generation out of AM4 than LGA1200!

  • +1

For those interested, we expect based on manufacturer and distributor discussions that prices will continue to rise 5-10% each month for probs the next 3 months so we don't think we've seen the highest prices on parts yet.

Shouldn't we expect demand and prices to come down once the mining limited revisions of the RTX 30 series chips start shipping this month?

    • +2

Demand is very high even without the miners. Also I wouldn't hold my breath based on Nvidia's previous attempts to counter miners

    • +1

The GPU shortage has been speculated could last until 2022/23 even with increased capacity from chip makers. This is just speculation but there has been shortages of GPU/CPU/PS5/Xbox for 8 months now due to higher worldwide demand so it's pretty believable.

Australia might be a rich country but we also have a small population in the grand scheme which places further strain on our market at the very least.

      • -2

Once ether 2.0 comes in, the used card market will have plenty of supply. There will be a lot of paperhands when mining profits drop. I personally don't mine, but have a keen interest in the subject so keep up to date on things.

Ether 2.0 = less revenue from mining, less revenue means less profit which will make it unprofitable or unsustainable for many miners.

        • +3

Except all the other GPU mineable coins that aren't eth still exist.

    • I think mining demand is just one part of the supply demand equation. Plenty of other factors such as input costs/availability are going to keep prices higher.

  • +8

Have yet to be a techfast customer and still a lurker but you guys need to ease off with the negs.

Firstly, it's the market we're in.

Secondly, the reps have always been helpful in the comments, providing upgrade options, looking into order numbers and generally taking feedback onboard.

    • +6

Except it isn't the market. The same PC 3 months ago with better motherboard and SDD was ~$700 cheaper. If you were to match those 2 parts, the difference between now and then would be closer to ~$850. The only part in this system that is in high demand and hard to find is the 3070. The 3070 did NOT increase in price by $850. The deal was 3 months ago. This is not a deal, it's bad value for money.

    • +4

I don't see why people should ease on the negs if they can explain why.

I was dissatisfied with the service. Perhaps if you actually were a Techfast customer you could more accurately comment.

    • +1

People wait 3 months and get no pc, then they appropriately neg, and you call that the market?

  • +1

Local computer store two weeks ago said their distributor pricing for 3070 GAMING OC required them to sell it at $1900 to make even a modest margin.

And they refused to do it because they made almost no money from a product that costs so much. Wasn't worth even trying to sell it at that price.

    So… the pain is real.

  • Considering the burning wreck the market is right now, this is a good deal. Long time lurker, but I felt I needed to speak my piece. Pay not attention to the negs Luke, you guys are really great. People just don't understand that sometimes the manufacturers want some of that scalping money themselves, on top of the materials hike

    • +2

No it really isn't a good deal even considering current market.

      • It isn't a good deal, but it isn't bad either. It's an OK deal tbh. If they have good supply for these parts and ship out in good time that'll make it decent.

  • +1

Wow didn't this would go up, glad I ordered last 3070 deal. Hopefully it's in stock soon?

  • +3

For me, this is not a deal for ozbargain, just a marketing offer. Mods would be deleting every post if uncle Gerry posted all his products in here with average prices.

  • +1

Yeah this maybe ain't as competitive as previous deals but everyone should know the PC market ain't what it was 3 or 4 months ago.
Heck RTX3070's that are in stock via partpicker are $1800+
Few months back this would have been towards the high range for RTX3080's !

    • +2

You could get this same system with a 5800x, AIO cooler, bigger ssd and a better case for $100 bucks more a week ago through the same vendor.

      • Not disputing that, it's the GPUs today that are making for shitty pricing, these were sub $1k cards few months back now some 3070's are pushing $2k for a mid range card. Which is crazy.
The rest of the parts are getting back to pricing one could call normal and probably easier to reach better discounting on price.

        • Took me 2 minutes this morning to find a 3 fan 3070 (innochill 3x) for 1399. The price used above in the price comparison is totally misleading. The average price for a gigabyte gaming oc 3070 on ebay is 1600, still far lower than the price used above in the heavily down voted comparison.

Continue to think this is a good deal if you will :)

          • @Canberralad92: I never said it was a good deal :p

Just curious if you have listing for the in stock RTX 3070 @ $1399 you should post it as deal based on current pricings..
Cheapest RTX 3070 showing on eBay for myself with buy it now price is $1683 for Twin fan Zotac card, or $1575 for a Gigabyte card from private seller with 2 days left on bidding.

            • +1

@CheapGit: Sorry for not mentioning where. it was 1499 at scorptec and still available, still a good deal if your going off the PCPP price used above. Incidentally its about 300 dollars cheaper, which would bring this deal back down into the usual market price territory (2k) for a 'bargain' in this climate.

              • @Canberralad92: My friend ordered this probably within 5 minutes of it was live and he said it was cancelled today. The listing was live until late last evening so I would imagine they are processing 500+ refunds if not more.

  • +1

Glad I bought stocks early @ $1488 for my 3070 system.

Absolutely loving it! Decided to try uncapped fps on rocket league the other day and hit 900 lol, all the frames!

  • You able to do a 5600X deal similar to this previous deal or better?
    https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/615611

Was still available a couple of days ago, but was still contemplating and came back and it had expired

  • look forward to 3080TI this month, 3070TI next month with a RRP …

  • just got my 3080/5800 from jan.

all in all extremely competitive market price and can vouch for TechFast as being as cheap as it gets for plug n play components that you can spec upto a premium level.

    • +1

what 3080 card did you get?

      • +1

        galax

    • You mean to say your order took nearly 5 months to be delivered?

      • Jan 28th so it was 3 months and a week, my friend waited over 6 for an EVGA 3080 from ple so to me this is kinda speedy.

        • Wow, insane
The stock issues are real especially so for the 3080's

  • +2

Yep tough and pricey market now, getting worse each month, Pretty good deal considering. Would buy if i wasn't already at the top of a queue after 6 weeks!

  • +9

Come on guys give Luke a break, he's always been respectful and given us awesome deals. Very upset by the immediate bad treatment of someone who has always done his best to fix and take care of any issues. If you had a bad experience with Techfast, that's unfortunate but I doubt it was done purposely to cause harm and taking it out on Luke isn't the way. He's a person who deserves respect, if you have issues, talk about them in a respectful manner. As for the prices here, it sucks, I know, you know, Luke knows but this is the industry right now. We've been through this before. I've been waiting to buy a Ryzen 9 build with a 3080 for a while, at this point it's gotten so out of hand I'm just making due with what I have until this whole thing blows over. I suggest you do the same if you can.

    • +3

He's a person who deserves respect, if you have issues, talk about them in a respectful manner.

Who here was disrespectful? I have read all the comments and I am genuinely curious.

    • -2

You sound a bit highly strung, may I suggest 20 chicken nuggies for $5.50 @ Hungry Jacks?
