Some of the reviews did mention it has an IR transmitter, like the 7 plus. But somehow, you cant find one on the market which actually have one….. :(
If you want IR the Sony Tablet S has one built in and it's programmable as well.

Yup, it is 15% off all Android tablets written on that sign. However I haven't had the opportunity to scan it for price myself at the counter to make sure its apply-able.

I think they (Samsung) have 3G ver as well on this model, but one we saw at MYER is wifi only. Sorry I haven't mention this on the title.
Yes, it has a 3G version and it is supposed to able to make calls. Not like the 8.9 or 10.1 which cant make call.

7" family (including 7.7) is more popular and expensive I believe.

Indeed. It's 2012 and Tegra 2 certainly feels a bit dated, whereas this one is 1.4GHz Exynos (same one in Galaxy Note).
or the SGS2 but overclocked.

Myer Melbourne has run out of stock, but they were willing to put in a backorder for me as the sale ends today.
They are also selling the 32gb wifi model for $649 less 15%. I figure i'll just put in a 32gb microsd for $40.
Delicious.. but i just cant justify/afford it when I have my touchpad baby here running ics. I am jealous of how thin and light the newer generation of tablets are though… and that superamoled HD… I think I'll cry now…
oh boohoo, I'm sad because I got a dual core tablet for only $99, which also happens to run android and has one of the best audio drivers on any tablet
lol. yes it was a great buy, but it certainly lacks in some areas - no 3g option, no gps, fat and heavy, highly reflective screen (and not my fav - superamoled), ppi isn't very great (identical to ipad yes, but not newer and smaller tablets like the tab). no hq back camera.
Not to mention, whilst android is pretty good, it's unlikely to reach the same performance as native android devices such as the tab (without sufficient help from HP. Our amazing devs have to do much the hard way).
Im just saying the tab 7.7 is a better device, but it would be a waste to purchase it when I have a decent (just imperfect) device already. I'm not whining or being ungrateful, far from it.. I'm just expressing how awesome i think the tab is.
p.s. it has good audio, but I wouldn't say amazing just because it's "beats". It has a wolfson chip which is very similar to the tab 10.1 (which is the same as sgs - compatible with voodoo sound). Although I can't seem to find out if the chip has changed in the 7.7.
similar yes, but I have a SGS2 and the sound quality is no where near the clarity and loudness of the touchpad.
