  • something's off about paying $2.6-3k for a laptop without a gpu

    • At this point it becomes a style choice. It's like designer fashion. A shoe is a shoe unless you care about things other than its functionality.

    • 1.19 kg 16 inch laptop or 1.35 kg 17 inch laptop is what you are paying for. Sure you can get a GPU but likely the weight will be doubled.

I saw the monitor come out less than $300 in Google.

Decent large lightweight laptop, but for this price - no thanks.

And I saw it at JB and I had a play of it. I wasn't impressed at the plastic feel/look of the laptop. Screen wobbled as I expected with a so thin and light weight design. Typing on it felt fine but had a cheapish feel to the keyboard.

The battery life, light weight and kinda nice screen wasnt enouth to entice.me to get one. Price was kinda a.mismatch as it didn't really feel premium.

    • I imagine it is pretty hard to make the build quality good for the weight. I expect the reason they price so high is because nobody else is making an equivalent machine.

That's right. Just like when the Razer blade first came out, they could charger whatever they wanted because it was one of a kind.

    • then again looking at the specs it does say.
      Material: Magnesium Alloy.
      also MIL-STD 810G grade standard

      still ain't getting one.

    • You can sorta see what they're trying to do to distinguish themselves from a sea of same-ish laptops.

It seems to be quite a feat to me, considering my 13" xps 13 is heavier and has a much smaller battery than this 16" laptop.

They must've also just recently started offering these in Australia, I couldn't find these a few years back whilst shopping for a laptop
