  • Is PCIE 4.0 the only difference between this and the x570-e?

    • +1

X570-e has two lan ports, one 2.5gbps realtek and one 1gbps Intel. The b550-e has one 2.5gbps Intel lan port which could have issues - Google i225-v version problems. The x570-e also has 8 sata ports.

Note there is also an updated b550-xe available.

You might also want to check out the x570 tuf gaming Pro for something in between with different trade offs for around $316 last time I looked.

      • Jesus that XE is almost the same price as the ASUS ROG Crosshair VIII Hero.. Which is only $500 now

  • This or Tomahawk?

    • +2

This is the cheapest MB supported multiple GPU ( SLI )on market, if you need.

Tomahawk has a better power supply to components, maybe overkilled for current AMD CPUs.

      • Thanks for that. Probably have no need for multiple GPUs. Appreciate the info

      • Curious about the best mobo for a 5850x. Want to remove price considerations from the equation as I dream about where to go. 5850x purchased and ready to unseal the box. Next stop. mobo. Any thoughts appreciated.

  • What about the faulty 225V Lan chip? Is it resolved now?

    • +1

Only on v3 of the i225v. It is a hardware problem so v1 and v2 can't be fixed. You won't know which version until you get your board.

      • Thanks!
