Yeah but the coffee is quite bad.

    • The $1 coffee serves a purpose, don't be a snob.

Get a regular (and another regular for free) if you usually get a large.

INB4 “the staff will hide all the coffee machines”…

  • sweet, it should be permanent, lol.
i spend $80+ on fuel per fill up, the least they can do is give me a $1 coffee :)

  • Is there a minimum fuel amount? I can't seem to see any

    • Often the pumps specify a minimum of 2L or $2.

Went today to the kellyville store and tried to claim my free coffee.

The guy said I am not eligible due to using fuel lock. No where in the app banner does it say that, nor or any of the signs around the store and the website. In fact it specifically says "any fuel purchase." After the big deal he made about it I refused the coffee and they ended up chucking it in the bin.

Turned me off from going there again.

    • They should have honoured it, because you were entitled it with "any fuel purchase".

    • Yep found out it was a $1 on docket

    • Same thing happened to me.

Pretty poor of them to not specify that you can't use a fuel lock with it, considering they do with all the other offers.

I think it may be up to the guy serving you. I regularly fill up at two different 7elevens, I always use my fuel lock at both. One servo gives me the free coffee with the fuel lock while the other doesn't. I mentioned that the other servos acknowledge it and give the free coffee, the guy replied saying that it is up to the system and he cannot change it. I would of created a fuss but thought it would be stupid to waste my time and energy over such a petty thing.

Again I have gone to a second 7eleven (castle hill) and the guy told me that due to using fuel lock I can't get the free coffee and that he had double checked this with head office. Really misleading and deceptive conduct on behalf of 7eleven. I ended up checking in my app where I had a barcode he could scan for the free coffee.

    • I should have read the comments here, but just had to pay $1 too.
      No deal.
It's definitely not with any fuel purchase. Small print is too small to read on phone itself and in store the ad on the speakers also said with any fuel purchase.

      • The small print on phone can easily be read by screenshotting it and then zooming in. It mentions nothing about not using a fuel lock.

        • That shouldn't be the normal process.
Also they don't mention any of this "small footprint" when the ad runs in-store.

      • I zoomed in and it definitely says "any fuel purchase".

I have submitted a complaint with the ACCC. I know it's only $1 but how many people are being misled, filling up the coffee cups and then being forced to pay for it due to these bait and switch tactics?

        • I would leave the full cup there for the cashier to drink and refuse to pay $1

          • @Pricebeat: It happened with me. I left it on the counter. The guy wasn’t happy.
Complained to 7-11, they sent me 5 free coffees.
Still not happy with their dodgy and cheap practice.
