  • Minimum $15k credit limit?

    • Sounds about right for the black level cards. Same credit limit required for the ANZ Frequent Flyer Black, CBA Diamond Awards and Westpac Altitude Rewards Black cards.

  • +3

    enjoy $195 annual card fee

    This 'enjoyment' ruins this deal.

    • +4

$195 is very low for a top tier rewards card.

    • Can get it waived with a home loan package. Can get $2k towards moving I believe with nab

  • +5

    No Lounge pass(es) ?

    (we're hard to please)

  • $195 fee for 100,000 points, or $590 and 12 month wait for 125,000.
But no travel credit or lounge access? Seems a bit average.

  • +2

Good value if you have run out off all other options.
Don’t see lot of deals on NAB where AF is reduced.
    Got conditionally approved.

  • Got this card when it used to be 130,000 points. 100K +30K

    • +2

Yeah but the 30k you have to wait one year which is not really worth it because the annual fee then kicks in.

  • Not bad, quick spend / high compared to some recently tho! not 3 months :( will apply after my ANZ churn

  • I’d say the Amex Qantas deal is better; 120k QFF bonus, status credits, and $450 fee offset by $450 in travel credits. Was approved instantly.

    • To clarify - this nab card comes with a 100k QFF bonus for $195, and you’ll need to fork out another $395 for the additional 25k points next year. Quite a lot in fees.

  • plan for the future.. save point now, fly later!

  • +1

NAB are terrible when it comes to QFF bonus points offers — far worse than, for example, ANZ, Westpac & Amex.

But this appears to be their best offer in some time. Still decent value if you are serving out your waiting period for these other providers and don't mind paying $0.002 per point, which is still favourable if you're redeeming a standard classic reward for ~$0.01 per point. Even more favourable if you're redeeming business class flights for ~$0.04 per point.

  • No free year, no deal !! When paying for a credit card became a good deal ? First year, free, then cancel and get a new one.

    • +2

there are a lot less those day with free fee…used to be non stop that we didn't know which one to pick, now it's like one every 6 months… still better than no deal.

  • how much gift card does the 100,000 points make?? cheers

    • 105,000 points equates to $500 wish gift card

    • $1800 if you get Premium Economy fare via Qantas points, at least double that in value if you get Business. Getting gift cards is not a great way to redeem points

      • I agree. You shouldn't get a frequent flyer card if you like to redeem Woolies gift cards. There are plenty of other reward options available.

        1.9cents/point = $1900 for 100,000 points according to pointhacks

        • The maximum value that I could ascribe to qantas points (using multiple example flights) is about 1.7c, and that's a stretch. I would very happily sell for 1.2c.

It is totally subjective though (depending on how much one values business class flights over economy).

  • I have a home loan with NAB, will they consider waving the annual fee but still grant the points upon meeting the spend criteria?

  • Ouch! I held off getting this one for 6 months thinking there'd be a deal. I've churned through all other available sign up bonus cards. Got this one 3 weeks ago at 90K and $295 annual fee, thinking no specials forthcoming. And now this. Oh well. Mofo

If you can spend $6K within 3 months, check out the St George offer.

If you are a St George customer (can become one by just sign up to their transaction account), you can access to their special deals on credit card.

They're having a promo with for the Signature card. First AF is to only $140 ($279 after 1st yr). Spend $6K within 3months and get 90K Q points.
They also have 2 lounge passes.

    • Unfortunately spending $6k in three months is no problem, that'll be gone in the first month. Unusually high spend requirement though.

Trying to refinance to St George at the moment and would prefer to hold off on CC applications until that's done, but OTOH another 90k points would get that points club membership sorted out, for what it's worth.

    • Ooh thanks for this info, I was going to ask in a new thread but don't think many people come across these types of deals!

When I has a Westpac account last year they waived the Amex annual fees for customers, but stopped offering Amex these days =(

  • Doesn't seem like a good deal, are there any other credit card deals at the moment worth looking at?

      • Become a St George customer then you'll get 1st AF waived.

        • It doesn't mention waiving the annual on that card's info page: https://www.stgeorge.com.au/personal/credit-cards/frequent-f… - is there a link to this info? Even in 2019 people were struggling to get the renewal fee waived on St George cards: https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/434804 - but that was on renewals, not new applications. Maybe you're referring to applying via online banking? I can see Westpac currently has a no annual fee on their Qantas Altitude Platinum when you apply via online banking, but you still need to pay a $50 fee for Qantas rewards, so effectively it's a $50 annual fee. I guess that St George would be similar, i.e. also $50? (I used to have St George online banking, but they block your access as soon as you close all your accounts, which is rather annoying and silly [in case you ever want to check transactions or come back]).

          • @nickj: Like i said, you must a StG customer to get that. Once you have became one, log into the app and see that from there.

            • @timhn: Apply for the Complete Freedom account to get access.

            • +1

@timhn: Fair enough - it's probably really $50 AF though (I refuse to separate out / subcategorize the bank's annual fee from the reward program's annual fee - to me it's all just annual fee, no matter what they want call it - but since I can't see the offer I cannot be sure, although I can see Westpac's equivalent offer).

This banking group (Westpac, StG, BoM) usually open up their offers to non-customers after a while. StG used to do down to a $49 annual fee & 70K bonus points on their platinum card, open to non-customers, think Westpac has done the same. I assume that we'll end up with that again at some point in the future.

              • +1

@nickj: screenshot of the promo in St George app.

There is no mention of the $50 reward program fee if taking the Qantas card. I believe only Westpac is charging that.

                • @timhn: I stand corrected! They're saying "saving $99", and if the usual fee is $99 (which I think it is), that definitely implies I'm wrong. Thank you for the info.

Hi, just wondering if anyone knows the minimum income required for this card? or approximate? Thanks alot!

  • Just tried the link from points hack and getting a 404.

  • +1

    Just got approved.

Was a toss up between this and the Qantas Money Plat (as after some status credits) but the latter has been devaluded to 80K points and cost has gone up to $225. No brainer in the end.

  • +2

Nothing to churn out for points at the moment so I just applied this.

  • How Much is 100,000 Qantas Points in terms of money?

    • how long is a piece of string?

  • is card linked to home loan eligible for the 100k qantas points ?

  • I have had this card 3 times in the last 4 years, fee free, because I had my home loan with NAB. They have always been very quick to pay out on bonus points. I think one time I had the card open for 6 weeks total.

Sadly (not that sad) I have refinanced away from NAB, so no more fee free Signature card. If I meet the spend, get the points and close the card within 2 months, I wonder if they would pro rata refund me the unused annual fee (10/12ths). Qantas Money do.

    • Qantas money refunded you the fee? Which card was this? Did you have to call them up and ask or was it automatic?

Edit: asking cos I just got out of the card from this deal and wondering if it's too late to get a refund haha.

      • Yep, that card. I closed after 3 months and got $150 refunded. I just asked the question when I called up to close the card. Didn't expect that they would say yes but it seemed very normal to them.

  • What is the approximate minimum income required for this card?

  • when do points get paid out? i made the spend like 2 months ago

  • How much is the fee for an additional cardholder?

  • Hey OP, to clarify "Offer unavailable to existing NAB cardholders", i.e. existing Credit Crd holders, right?
If I have a basic personal/reward saver account with them, am I still eligible for this bonus? The reason I ask, I started applying for the card and it asked me if I am an existing customer, I logged in using my customer id, and straight away it mentioned we cannot proceed with your application online. Not sure what the problem is.
