Looks like Samsung have increased their trade-in bonus on the Galaxy S21 to $400 (it has varied between $200 and $500 in the past two months). The $200 discount code also now appears to be stackable again, and you can also stack the $50 newsletter sign up voucher.

        Unless someone else can get it working, it seems like the $200 off from chat doesn't stack any more.

        So my price went from $575 to $775. I guess they closed this loophole in the website.

    • Except most people who do these trade-in offers aren't sending their phones in. Instead we simply pay the relevant fee and sell our phone privately….win win!

  • Hmm was just on with chat and got told there is no $200 voucher - started off with "I understand there's a promo $200 voucher available via chat?". Response was "Thanks for bringing this to our attention. I believe the info that you heard is not accurate since it was given to the person because the phone of his/her no longer had an option to be fixed that's why our Service Team gave a voucher to use to purchase a new phone." So YMMV :-(

    • Depends on s6 variant. The edge 128gb version has a trade in of $10.00 in working good condition. So it will be the cost of the new phone (s21 $1249) minus $10 for trade in phone - $400 trade bonus, - $200 voucher - $50 email sign up voucher. Should cost $589. This assumes you get all the required vouchers and they work online and you trade in a phone that they accept.

      Biggest let down sure the phone is nice but a small improvement from last year but the loss of SD card I feel is a step backwards

    I would STRONGLY discourage buying from Samsung's eCommerce store. And don't get the custom colours that take 4-5 weeks. After waiting 4 weeks for my Phantom Navy S21 Ultra there was a faulty screen right out of the box. The Samsung Store at Doncaster verified the fault for me but couldn't help me with a replacement at all because they said "the eCommerce team is a different group". So don't expect to be able to take your Samsung phone purchased from Samsung's Website to the Samsung Store for assistance.

    It's been 1.5 weeks since that happened and they still haven't picked up my faulty phone and on top of that I'll need to wait another 4-5 weeks for a replacement. I asked if I could just get a Phantom Black instead so I wouldn't have to wait and they told me no. There are more details involved including multiple phone calls to customer service, but honestly it's one of the most frustrating customer experiences I've ever had.

    Buyer beware.

      my s7 and s9 were both straight from samsung, had no problems at all repairing/replacing in QLD.

    Are people picking different options or did i just get a dodgy chat agent?

      When you get that error, it's because the system doesn't have your credit card linked - you may need to click 'online' and provide your credit card details in the TradeUp app, otherwise you'll need to uninstall/reinstall the app and generate a new code.

      When you get that error, it's because the system doesn't have your credit card linked - you may need to click 'online' and provide your credit card details in the TradeUp app, otherwise you'll need to uninstall/reinstall the app and generate a new code.

    • Rinse and repeat with new live chat. Tell them it's to purchase the s21 online. $200 voucher.

    • Try and get the "Voucher or discount-related inquiries" section. I typed into the text bar until the AI Chatbot found the correct one.

    • Literally just jumped on to https://chatbot.samsungcs-au.com/ and asked for a code - got one straight away! I think you had a dodgy person :)

    I just ordered a new S21. I traded in an old pixel 2 XL for $20 to get the $400 bonus, and that stacked with the $200 voucher from live chat.
    I tried to get the $50 newsletter bonus but the email didn't come in time.
    however i did use a $30 afterpay referral credit!

    So after all that it cost me $599 for a brand new S21 5G.

      That phone is worth far more than $20 for its ability to be used for a 7/11 chopper..

  • Now that I look into it, the S21 actually seems like a step backwards from my S9+ in many ways. Prices keep going up but build quality and features reduce. I dont really see any reason to upgrade at all.

        specs got updated, but s21 missing microSD, headphone jack, and 1440p screen vs the s9.

    • I'm in the same boat, currently deciding between upgrading this s9+ to either a s21fe or s21 ultra. Looked at the s21 and the plus displays and it's a noticeable downgrade, which is a deal breaker for me.

    Has anybody been able to use the trade-up tool in the last hour or so?

          I just downloaded the app to test my phone, it passed and gave me 200 dollar trade in. Then I went to the Samsung store, picked an s21 128gb applied my code and I got 200, plus the bonus 400. Then I spoke to an agent and he gave me a 200 dollar voucher and I applied that.

            • @jrance: You need to add your credit card in samsung app, which tested your mobile, else you can't add your code anywhere.

    • You have to go keep going to the checkout and put your credit card details in. It doesn't charge you. Then it spits out a code you can use online in the store.

          True…what they offer is much less than what we can get privately
          but they are offering a $400 bonus etc

      • Yeah i had that issue - when you use the app - you need to go through as if you were buying it from the online store and enter in your credit card details. Then your code will work. Took me a bit of frustration to figure that one out!

          • @pinkybrain: I am trading in a S10 128GB and ended up getting a s21 for $444 - pretty happy with that. It comes with a free USB C cable and free shipping.

            Not sure about the charger yet - am currently using a USB C laptop charger that suits my work laptop - seems to charge my S10 pretty quickly. Will deal with the 25W fast charger later. Let me know if you have any tips! Cheers
