  • Whats the normal price? why is this a bargain?

    • Think around $20, sometimes on special for ~ $14.

      • Then it wasn't on special. Every 3-4 months sold in Safeway for ~$10-$12.

  • Wow good price.
Just make sure its the Aussie rice. Sunrice experimented with some imported rice sold as "Sunrice" last year… didn't taste too good.

Great price, my favorite type of rice, Australian medium grain (Calrose Rice), much tastier than the tasteless long grain from Thailand and even Basmati rice … in my opinion.

    • +1

IMHO it is the other way around. Japanese Rice > Thai Jasmine Rice > Calrose > Basmati (unless i eat indian food)

    • Brown Rice > Every other kind of rice.

  • got rice? lol

  • +2

    jasmine rice.. no 1.

  • Well its just personal taste of course but I like Japonica rice and Sunrice Calrose the best. Not a fan of long grain anything except some fancy wild rice that you get at the organic store can be pretty good too.

Good price! Considering I just purchased 5kg for around the same price! AHH!

  • Price of rice has dropped since the Thailand flood.

    • +2

That does not make economic sense. The flood reduces production/supply. Why would the prices of rice drop?

      • +2

        Rice loves water.

        • LOL, in the same way living things love to be drowned.

Also consider transportation around certain areas of Thailand have been crippled…

I was waiting for these to drop in price as my rice stock is running low! Can't afford Jap short grain so Sunrise Medium grain is the next best thing for me. Thanks!

Good price, but geez, Sunlong rice sucks compared to most Thai medium or long grain rice (which you can buy at your local Asian grocery store for around $14-15 per 10kgs).

    • I just bought a 25kg bag of Thai rice from an Asian grocery store in Burwood, cost $45. If you buy the smaller bags they are at least $2/kg.

      • Woolies has jasmine long grain from thailand for 10.88 for 10kg atm

$12.99 in the catalog but 10.88 at rosehill NSW
