I thought this was a great deal, a nice portable coal fueled picnic bbq and tool set.
Kitchenware direct have it for $59 excluding the tool set (but have a bigger range of colours!). This only comes in white.
I didn't grab one as its a bit of an impulse buy but thought you guys would like it.
Here's a review from kitchenware direct from a lady more concerned about colours..
I love the look and style of this little bbq! It's a perfect size to take on picnics, camping ect. I purchased the green which, but when I got it, it doesn't quite match in colour with the accessorie tools I bought to match. The shade of green is not quite the same (not as vibrant lime green as I was expecting like the tools). I have since seen the other colours in a store and they look great. Mine also came with a few dents around the lid which is disappointing. The paint is not chipped, so it is definitely in the manufacturing. One I saw in a store also had a couple, so something to watch out for. The red, orange and black look fantastic and match true to the colours you see on screen. I wish the green had because I love the vibrant lime green the tools come in….
and a few Q and A's
Hi. Are you able to put this Bodum Charcoal BBQ on a table? thanks, Jen
HI Jen, yes the BBQ can go on a table.it can go anywhere .we love it .i got one for camping and it has been a godsend ..it is also great as a heater when camping ,we put potatoes in it and than pop on socks and warm our feet on it while playing cards.a lot of camp grounds won't allow you to have open fires ,so this is still like having a grill for food, and taste so much better than a gas BBQ.. At the sale price it is such a bargain.they are beautiful to look at .a small part of the paint has chipped on the lid ,which it came like that ,and a small chip has appeared .it doesn't deter me from loving it .at the sale price it would make a wonderful gift.
can you tell me what sort of fuel this bbq requires ,what are the dimensions and does it have the same cooking times as a conventional bbq?also how many steaks can you fit on it at one time and can it cook a roast?
kind regardsThe fuel for this is charcoal. The dimensions are 39cm wide, 39cm long and 36cm high. It depends on the size of your steaks, but it would be ideal for 4-6 steaks. I would not recommend this for cooking a roast, but it would be possible.
doesn't look like it has any side handles, otherwise I would definitely be interested. I don't think the full weight of the bbq + coal should be picked up using only the top handle since it might break over time?
