Since the HL-2132 is just the exclusive version of the HL-2130 to prevent pricematching, the cheaper HL-2130s would actually be the deal.
The HL-2132 is the HL-2130, just that OW wanted to prevent pricematching and got Brother to give it a different model number just for them.

    Edit:
If the HL-2130 is actually cheaper like the OP originally said before editing the post then it'll be the deal, and not this. If this is the cheapest then this would then be indeed a bargain.

the cheaper HL-2130s would actually be the deal.

OK, so please tell me where (in Sydney) I can get the HL-2130 for under $42.

      Thanks.

        Please read the edit.
The OP ORIGINALLY said that the HL-2130 was cheaper, and I was responding to that. I didn't go find any links for a cheaper HL-2130 because I took the OP's word that there were HL-2130s going for cheaper.
The OP has since edited the post and removed that bit.

    • Sorry, I thought the HL-2130 was the superseded model. I have rectified the post.

    • Office works sore lists this as one of the features of the printer.

      USB cable Not Included

  • First post is full of all kinds of inaccuracies.

      Care to expand on that?

      • They have actually edited the first post so my post is no longer applicable.

Excellent printer. I had one I bought from office works back in months ago for $89, still printing from the included cartridge. At this price it is cheaper than the toner by itself.

  • Has anyone tried printing livescribe dot paper with this printer? I can't find on the web if it will print postscript documents.

    • scratch that it has to be: color, postscript capable, and at least 600dpi capable.

Looks like this isn't a color printer… sad face

  • If you buy it on line they charge $5 fee plus delivery so cheaper in store.

    • Added another deal for the lazy ones.

  • Which has cheaper toner refills, Brother HL-2132 or Fuji Xerox P205B?

    • Inkstation has high capacity generic toner for $43.20 for the Brother and $54 for the Fuji Xerox. They have free shipping if you order over a certain amount (i think $50 for inks and $100 for toner).

Good printer - got mine back in November for ~$44 (http://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/57587).
Really can't complain at this price. Not the colour vesrion but that actually makes it great and cheap to run with Kids/Wife at home. I personally use by work Colour Laser for serious printing - this one is for occasional print jobs when @ home. My old Colour inkjet cost more to run (even at aftermarket $8 per colour) plus ink dried and head clogged due to infrequent use. In my case - just waste.

RE toner, you can get cheap refill kits and Brother is easy to DIY (or just buy another one when you run out).

  • Where to people recommend getting replacement toners? Generic ones that is.

I see inkstation mentioned above, any other places?

My dad needs to print 1800 pages in the next few days and was going to get it done at OW, the printer might pay for itself if I can get it done with the starter tone and 1 replacement.

  • This is just an ordinary price when you consider that they dropped the starter toner down to 700 pages…
Furthermore, they brought back the TN-2030 cartridges instead of TN-2130 and TN-2150.

    • Are the starter toners they include only 700 pages :( They used to be the 2500 toners. I know people who have printed ~5000 pages with it and still going.

      • The 2130 actually had the 1500 page toner included (the tn-2130) and yeah, could easily print 3k+ pages from it

        • Harvey Norman list the HL-2130 as having a TN-2030 Toner with 700 page capacity also.

          http://www.harveynorman.com.au/brother-hl-mono-laser-printer…

I bought the HL-2132 a few days ago for my mum, but I prefer my old HL-2140.

        • Ok thats good information. Now where can we get printers still with 2130 cartridge?
I saw that the HL-2130 printers also uses 2030 toners now(700 pages).

        • grizz_li

          hunt down a HL-2140, HL-2150N or HL-2170W.

  • Just got an email from officeworks advertising this printer for the $42 price.
    FWIW, link is here: http://www.officeworks.com.au/retail/products/Technology/Pri…

Had the HL-2130 since 2008. I paid $66 for it from DSE. Printed all my Uni stuff on it, well over 1500 pages on the stock cartridge. Once the toner was "empty" I put a piece of tape over the sensor and it's still printing.

    Best printer I've ever owned.

    • Doh… wrong model number. It's actually a HL-2140.

  • Thanks for the info jase_h.
I'm currently using a HL-2040 and is amazed by the original toner it came with. (Rated as 2500 prints).
It's just about to run out so I've been looking into these printers.

  • HN has it for $38 not $42

    maybe title needs editing.

already bought it from OW last night.. damn I lost 4 bucks.. what a huge loss ;)

  • It's just under $38 @ office works now. Just bought one at Werribee VIC.

    • Updated. Thanks.

  • Good thing I didn't buy it yet. Was too lazy to go and now saved $4.
This equates to 2 Double Cheeseburgers!

  • Officeworks advert in today's SMH has it at $37.94

    • I updated the prices yesterday.
