I tried and got confused about the steps to add a card and pay it etc. but will post with feedback if I figure it out

    • Interested in this as well. Let me know if it’s straight forward.

Very odd - I've set everything up - and it mentions on their Dashboard about linking to Qantas Rewards… and then you click on it and it only has option to link to Velocity? Bizarre! I've submitted a support ticket thing… surely they can get the basics right!

    • You may find you’re already linked via your ABN. Click on rewards in left hand menu. In there mine shows QBR as connected

      • Nope - Mine just shows Velocity in the rewards section. So I disconnected from Velocity rewards and then it gave me the choice of Qantas Reward or Velocity Rewards.

        • Mine was the same yesterday but today it only gave me the option of QBR, which I've now linked.

  • 'pay $10,000 or more off a credit card or charge card using the bank transfer service'
Actually I do not understand the direction of this payment.

'From' is my bank transfer to Yak?
'To' is a bill? what kind of bill I have to pay? how about my Amex credit card monthly bill?

    • It looks like they have a new service that tacks a fee on payments from a bank account to pay a credit card balance, allow earning points for credit card statement payments, so yes, this would likely be that

      • called them today.
The promotion is ONLY for new customers.

I have already registered before (but never used). So I am out of this promotion.
        So sad.

  • Seems like a good offer but confused with the process. Once I sign up to Yak, do I make bank transfer facilitated by Yak to payoff any credit card?

How long do I need to wait to receive bonus points after meeting eligible transfer spend?

Edit: I signed up but payment page isn't working for me..

    • It requires your account to be confirmed/processed by Yak first. If your account shows pending on the summary page when you log in, you won't be able to make payments yet.

  • $66 for 50k points seem cheap. The only thing I've skeptical is will Yak cough up the points?

    • +3

It was promoted by QF so I imagine they’re legit. My account all set up and transfers compete.

      $66 for 53,333 points is 👌🏼

      • So you can pay $10k from your credit card, via Yak, to the bank account of your "supplier"?

      • Do you mind letting me know how long does it take to complete the (BPay) payment for credit card settlement? I have an AMEX account due 30/3 and don't want to get caught for overdue. Thank you in advance for any advice (I just set up my Yak Pay account with approved status)

Can you pay more off a credit card than you have owing? As in, can I pay $10,000 on my CC bill and then use that credit for the next few months?

    • +1

Yep done it a few times

      • If you have surplus can you request the money to be withdrawn?

    • +2

I routinely pay more than I have owing but I would be wary about putting a credit card into large amount of credit, especially more than 10k. I did it once on an AmEx card and when I tried to close the account and get the $10k+ transferred, it flagged as a money laundering transaction. You'd be fine will lesser amounts like a few k though.

      • So were you able to withdraw the money?

        • Yes, once I sent in documentation showing the money had come from an account in my name. It was a balance transfer from a credit card deal.

  • Qantas 'Business' Rewards noob here…

Can I transfer / use these points in my 'personal' account?

  • Will they check that they're business expenses (or has to be a Qantas business credit card)? Or are people able to sign up using any Qantas earning credit card?

    • Nah they don’t think.

  • Anyone received their bonus points for payments?

I made $4k payment but yet to see 1333 points.

    • Yep, got the 3K in points, just waiting for the bonus to come through.

      • +2

I was told by Yak Pay that the bonus 50k points will be credited in early May.

        • Not stressing about it.

        • In the same boat, made a 10k payment and received 3,333 points but no 50k points yet.

Guess i'll wait till mid May

    • end of April they told me

      • Not like I'm on the edge of my seat waiting to use them.

  • If paying other bills by linked credit card, will this count at $10,000 payment requirement? Or the $10,000 purely about bank transfer to pay off credit card?

    • Terms seem pretty clear:
"New customers who sign up to Yak Pay will earn 50,000 bonus Qantas Points by paying $10,000 or more off a credit card using the bank transfer service by 23 April 2021"

  • I signed up 48 hours ago and my account is still not active

    Anyone else
    ?

    • Call them. I got mine approved over the phone.

  • Having trouble linking to QBR, anyone has this issue?

    • Have your account been activated?
After your account is active, Qantas will be there as above for you to link.

  • is it too late to do all this today or does it take a couple of days to confirm account?

    • The advice I received was that the fund for paying the credit card balance had to be credited to Yak’s account today. So you may still have luck if the account is all set up and you are able to use NPP for instant payment…

      • thanks i managed to open up account today and rep called me asking for proof of address which i emailed and he activated account and talked me through the steps and i managed to make a 1k payment to one card successfully and he confirmed received. luckily he called me as i was about the give up. ive make 3 more payments had to shuffle money around and wait 4 hours for npp to arrive as some accounts had 1k daily npp limits. so only 1 npp is showing approved and the other 3 are still showing waiting payment. does someone need to approve them or is it done automatically? also for the reference number i does it matter if you type in the ( - ) hyphen between the numbers which i did for one of them.? dam npp its not so instant depends on the banks have different daily limits. does anyone know 86 400 limit for new NPP ? anyway i hope i get the bonus qantas points for all the effort i went to this evening.

  • can we get both offers qantas and velocity>?

  • i still haven't received the 10k points. does anyone know how long it takes for them to reach account.?
