Op is $1 cheaper actually.
Oh right there's a maximum discount
512gb = $1949 - 20% = $1559? Unless I'm mistaken?
Max $300 with this code.
Max discount of $300 with the code
@Merlict: Got it, my bad, so yeah $1 cheaper deal.
is that the latest MacBook Pro with Touch Bar? Thanks
It's not the latest anything, x86 macs are old news
So this, or an XPS for someone that only uses windows?
Lol random downvotes. Thinkpad or XPS imo
ewww intel
RIP Intel
New M1 coming out in July
Is it macbook 14"‽
Rumoured to be, and the new 16"
Well, second half of the year, so might not be July.
I wonder if Apple will revert to type and charge eye watering "professional" prices for m1x laptops or follow the recent trend and bring it in at $1800-$2000. Either way it's hard to see how you aren't better off paying the extra $250 for M1 version above (unless you have special Intel needs).
No virtualisation on M1 = RIP for actual professionals with IT professional use-cases.

That's why I cannot use M1 Macs for work. I must have Intel compatibility to run VMs at near native speed. Unfortunately, I will have to buy Intel laptop."TIL you are only a real professional if you use your PC to run VMs
Yep, there are no professions other than ones that use VMs :)
FTFY: "I must have Intel CPU virtualization extensions / instruction set to run Intel VMs at near native speed"
I reckon that people who have the need to run Intel VMs at near native speed will probably have some solution to this conundrum; and it won't be a MacBook.
(it will probably be some kind of hypervisor running on Intel hardware. And it will probably be accessible / manageable from an M1 MacBook)
I use my Mac for running vms. It's super handy for PoCs. Do I want a new M1 based Mac, yes, do I want it to have 16 to 32 gigs of ram and virtualisation extensions, heck yes. ¯_(ツ)_/¯
\ <— your arm, sir
Apples target demographic has been consumers not business for the last few years
i5-8265u?or 8250u?
Both i5 models use a i5-8257u.
i5 is $1699.99 when i click on deal?
That's why it says [AfterPay] in the title, you must select afterpay as a payment method to enter the discount code. Then you can either pay for it with gift cards or just use afterpay.
Cool, thanks. Ive never used afterpay, so i didnt understand that part, is it easy to do? as i just prefer to pay things outright
You can pay for the remaining installments straight away you don't need to pay every 2 weeks. But if you are applying for a mortgage, seeing afterpay payments in your bank statements is not looked upon favourably.
@brosk1s: Wow, im glad you mentioned that, im in the process of looking at land for a build.
@snipercat: You can use gift cards after choosing the afterpay option. That way it never shows up in your bank.
How come no one stocks 16gb ram ones :(
It's a custom order from Apple only.
JB might still do CTO but they won't be discounted
Who would buy a laptop with 8gb memory?
less RAM required with M1 architecture compared to x86
M1 seems expensive compared to this:
