[Afterpay] OVERDRIVE Gaming Desk 139cm (55" Wide) + Mousepad $135.20 + Free Delivery to Metro @ Mytopia via eBay

130
PAPDY20

I spent about a few hours researching for a computer desk that was wider than the usual 120CM that didn't break the bank and decided upon this one. Dimensions are 139 (width) x 75 (depth) x 76cm (height)

At $135.20, this makes the deal just as good as Clear's deal for the Blitzwolf BW-GD2 55 inch gaming desk. It is about 15 centimeters deeper than the Blitzwolf, which is essential if you have a >35in ultrawide monitor and you need it further away from your face. And more importantly it fits well into a standard office without any aggressive red lines and wolf/dragon logos.

It does not have a cup holder nor does it have a video game storage rack but it does have a carbon fiber (style) top, adjustable rubber feet in case your floor isn't level, cable management hooks, headset hanger and XL mouse pad.

  • This looks great. 75cm deep is a minimum for a decent desk. Looks great. If it was 90cm would be even better.

Looks like there is a XL mousepad included?
    Edit:

    $223 shipping do Darwin….

You are generally better off buying a normal office chair. "gaming chair" is just a branding gimmick and just refers to a style of chair that looks like it was made for gaming but in general there's very little product innovation in budget gaming chairs.

They all suffer from the same problems because they come out from the same factory just with different colours and logos.

Recommend you watch Gamer's Nexus where he reviews such chairs and compares them to good quality Office chairs. It's unfortunately a 30 minute long video so you might want to watch it at 2x speed. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9Yhc6mmdJC4

I would recommend with desks going to a physical store and testing how much they wobble around - most of these so-called “gaming” desks aren’t worth the plywood they are made of. I picked up an extremely durable and stable tempered glass top and metal frame desk from Harvey Norman which is perfect for competitive gaming.

If a desk wobbles around as you move the mouse or type then it’s as good as useless - get something with some weight behind it.

This one? How much did you pay if so?

      • I didn’t buy the one you linked - the one I bought is a discontinued line.

Here’s a link to a photo of what I have named “apex” desks. I can’t find the desks listed on the website any more.

I have two of them and I got both for $650 reduced from $1500 for both on clearance

Edit: I don’t have the corner draws/table as in the photo, just two of the desks you can tuck a chair under.

        • It weighs 21kg… by the time you put on your stuff it aint wobbling for nothing.

I have a desk similar to this one but Z frame and 1.5m wide and with two monitors two speakers ontop its of course its stable.

    • Enjoy the tempered glass when it explodes

How can this be called a gaming desk without any RGB

I have a genuine question, what's a gaming desk and how is it different from a normal desk?

    • +2

      name

    • I would like to know too. It seems the word "gaming" is thrown into any PC items to make it more fancier

      Gaming mouse
      Gaming Chair
Gaming keyboard etc etc, list goes on.

    • cheap table with rgb lighting, dont forget the cup holder and earphone holder … if only the ply wood table was thicker

    • "Gaming" typically means cheap shite that they have paid streamers to spruck on their channels to turn a quick profit. Exceptions to the rule would include mice and monitors (maybe keyboards). Everything else is likely to be crap. Normal sturdy desk with a proper office chair are perfectly fine to game with. My headphone hanger is even a cheap toilet roll holder screwed to the underside of my IKEA desk.

  • Mine arrived today and I've put it together. Pretty sturdy and there's no wobble (unless you intentionally tried to make it wobble, it won't move when used normally). It's a small upgrade from my IKEA MELLTORP dining table repurpose as a computer desk.

There's about 56 screws that you have to put in so it's a good 15 to 20 minutes required for assembly if done yourself.

There's also the mousepad, which is 69 (nice) centimeters long, but unfortunately not long enough for you to put both a full sized keyboard and mouse ontop, it might be fine if you have a tenkeyless Keyboard.

I stuck with using my Lenovo Legion mousepad
