damnnn did all yours get damaged during lightning?
Maybe you can attach one of the OG satellites where u need the port to this set up?
2 of em have been hit (separate storms).
The first one blew only the incoming port (so had to reset and use one of the satellites as the new main); but then last week another storm took that one out (actually took both ports out). So now only have 1 fully working left. The other 2, wifi seems to work (1 of em seems to cut in and out a bit i've noticed though).
If you want a wired backhaul, I believe you can achieve that by buying additional routers instead of points / wiring them together. The extra routers will act like points.
This is what I'm planning on doing to replace my crappy old Aimesh (Asus) setup. Expensive, but I don't want the cat6 I ran to go to waste.
I'm pretty sure multiple Nest routers can also mesh wirelessly (again, behaving like points), but providing a port to hardwire devices.
This is 100% right.
Just got one. Been looking to grab one for a long time now. Thank you so much OB!
You're welcome :)
Finally pulled the trigger, thanks ;)
High 5 * Same!
Is this any good with FTTP connections?
Nest Wi-Fi is a good option for FTTP.
Quad core 1.4Ghz CPU.
1GB of RAM.
Maximum of around 920Mbps Ethernet.
Up to around 650Mbps Wi-Fi.Thank you!
Hi guys, i have this already but want to add extra WiFi points to my network. Is there a 3 pack just for WiFi points? I don't need the router.
Does the router double up as a WiFi point as well?
See my earlier response - you can use the router as a point.
Wish the satellites had ports like the original. Considering the Netgear MK63 for $358 (https://www.ebay.com.au/itm/Netgear-Nighthawk-Mesh-WiFi-6-Sy…); anyone had any experience? Will be upgrading from the original Google WiFi which have suffered damage due to lightning.
