    • how? 1795 - 300 is $1,495.00

      • there's another deal from the powerland

      • Pay with5-8% % off giftcard too

  • +2

Whoa! Just saved about $450 on a couple of pieces of workshop gear I've been wanting from my watchlist for over a year. A-mazing!

  • Apple pencil 2 is a good deal too, a couple left at $189 and a few $199 coming down to $151 and $159, not a bad price

  • THANKS!
There hasn't been a decent sale like this in a while.

    • There was a 10% Afterpay one almost a month ago (12% if you had EbayPlus). The last good one like this was Black Friday time if I'm not mistaken. What makes this one great is that there are a lot of eligible items. In the past, it's been rather restricted.

  • How does Afterpay work?
It will just charge to your credit card at the instalment due date automatically?
When does Afterpay start charging interest?
Can we pay (afterpay) the full amount straight away, by click the 'Pay Now' button in Afterpay (you would have to do this for all the instalments)?
How does Afterpay make money ?

    • -2

How does Afterpay make money ?

It doesn't. Afterpay shareholders are paying for this.

    • +3

It's basically a "stupid" tax for people who don't know how to manage money but MUST have the latest thing RIGHT NOW even though they can't afford it. Afterpay fronts them the money and then charges their "fees" which work out worse than personal loan interest. But because they only deal in small amounts they fly under the radar of heavier financial regulation.

FWIW they made a motza and their share price is going through the roof, and the existence of the billionty copycat businesses like Humm, Zip, LatitudePay, etc. is a testament to how many people out there aren't Scott Pape fans.

      • So as long as you pay Afterpay now, then you won't have to pay anything extra?
I am surprise that their stock price has gone through the roof.

        • +1

Correct. I’ve used Afterpay on a few large items just to smooth out the cost. No fees or interest, just total cost of item into 4 instalments.

Afterpay business model relies users not paying on time then they can charge fees and interest. Similar to a credit card company hoping people don’t pay off the balance in full.

        • +4

Yeah, OzBargain is not their target market. We're the ones that pay off our Afterpay and Credit Card balances in full each month. However, there's a vast majority of people out there who don't, and that's where Afterpay makes its money. A lot of money, by all accounts.

          • @zzyss: A lot of customers are like that, but the real suckers are the investors.

            • @bargaino: LOL since the whole Bitcoin thing I've stopped thinking of them as Investors and started calling them Hodlers :-P

    • Afterpay doesn't make money, if you know anything about their company they made a half yearly loss of $80m

  • Just got 2 eufy cameras using the gift cards with 5% cashback for ~$286. Bargain!

  • Does anyone know how reputable Mobileciti is? There's some interesting reviews about them online and I wanted to know everyone's perspective on this (just bought wh-1000xm4 of them).

    • +2

Have used before. Not had a problem with items so can't comment on support but no issue with purchase (same headphones which are amazing)

      • Cheers mate

  • Just ordered a 55” Samsung TU8000 TV for $783. Good value!

  • Any deals on iPhone 11?

  • If i pay via afterpay can i just pay it off without any penalties/fees/interest?

Whats the advanage of purchasing the cards over above?

    Cheers

    • +1

With Choice gift cards you get 5% cash back from Cashrewards

      • If I'm not mistaken, Cashrewards is showing 1.50% cashback for Choice Gift Card. They must have altered it recently.

        • +2

Yeah I think they just did it today, it was 5% this morning when I bought the JVC tablet.

          • @superforever: If i buy this it comes through instantly.. i then swap instantly to ebay cards however how do i pay via ebay? Phone app doesnt give the option to pay by alternate method?

All of the above i suppose is subject to the gift cards coming through in a timely matter..

            • @Daves88: Just enter the gift cards code like enter the coupon code PAPDY20

              • @superforever: So this will allow me to select two codes in this section?

                • @Daves88: Yes I think up to 8 (it mentioned in the deal details) but not the eBay plus one.

                • @Daves88: Up to8 codes So 7gc and 1 promo code
Shopback swap giftcard is better as you can buy500 face value and 5% off(pay up to$1500 gc on ebay in one transaction)

                  • @watson4884: Cheers guys its gone down to 1.5%

                    • @Daves88: Shop back appstill showing 5% off… Just scored $500x3 not long ago. (25 each cash back showing

                      • @watson4884: I couldn't see it on the app. Note for next time i suppose.

                        • @Daves88: Can't see any choice gift card from Shopback.

                          • @superforever: It's called "Swap" in shopback, still 5% off until now

                            • @bird380: I may purchase something else.. is the 5% cashrewards still popping up in the app?

I assumr the gift card trick is still working? Cheers

This code actually works @ Bing Lee, TGG, etc. storewide, not limited to things on the promo page.

  • i am trying to buy some watch which are ebay plus item but cant use afterpay. anyone have any idea why is this happening?

  • -1

up to $2000 in one transaction and check out using Afterpay during the Offer Period. A maximum discount of $300 per transaction applies.

What… So if you go over the $2000 limit, you get $0 off..?

Let's be honest though, $1,500 is the agreed ozbargain limit here

  • Looking to get a HP Elitedesk G6 800 which is around $1400

If I sign up for afterpay, am i only limited to $600 limit?

  • Some say After Pay can place a black mark on your credit rating?

    • +1

Incorrect - they don't do credit checks like many other BNPLs

  • +1

Wish there was motorcycle gear in here somewhere.

    • Me too, lots of MC gear is overpriced. However the Afterpay sale isn't limited to eBay, so some MC websites also have the sale until Sunday if they accept Afterpay. I ended up buying a new jacket that I'd been eyeing off for a while that was 20% off and free shipping, when paid with Afterpay. I'd check outside eBay if you know what you want. YMMV however.

      • This is great to know! Which stores did you go to?

        • +1

EasyR and AMA Clearance Warehouse, although prices were better in store, I guess because they don't have to ship for free. Not that it would help you as these stores are in Brisbane/South East Queensland.

According to the Afterpay website, the sale may have already finished at those stores as it started earlier than the eBay sale. Their website seems to now only show Up to 50% off at Firestorm Motorcycles and 10% off at Motorcycle Stuff if you search 'motorcycle' in the sale.

          • @justdigi: Yes, thanks, this is exactly what I did. Shame I missed out on EasyR. I'll have a look on Noosa.
            Cheers.

        • Noosa Motorcycles seems to still have 15% off + free shipping on still as well.

          • @justdigi: Is that scooter site? They don't seem to have a full selection to match their in store offering according to them… I'll keep waiting for the next motorcycle deal.

  • Can one bring down the price of an eBay item to below $2000 (with gift cards) and then use Afterpay (to benefit from this deal)?

  • Cracking deal. Bought the HP elitedesk G6 800 i7 10700 for $1138.83. I also used the gift card trick aswell so didn't have to create afterpay account.

Can anyone confirm that the gift card - after pay hack is still working? Someone mentioned on 18/3/2021 that when they added a gift card, the after pay option and discount disappeared….

    • I had this problem last night in my web browser but managed to get the order through on the mobile app.

    • Worked fine for me about 5 mins ago.

Added three gift cards to bring the balance to $nil and the afterpay discount was still applied.

  • I got sucked in and signed up to purchase a dryer. I was going to purchase a washer as well, but it says I have an Afterpay limit. Does anyone know if I can pay the balance off and have the limit reset immediately? Thanks in advance for any help!!

  • When clicking on the link, it goes to a page for eligible items, but I tried and bought two items and was able to apply the code. Just wondering if this is a glitch on ebay end, or it is pretty much store wide ?

    • +2

it is pretty much store wide ?

Almost everything but I did see one with afterpay but code didn't work.

  • I'm like dumb or something but I can't figure out the end date for this promo? Can't find it in t&c
    Does anyone know

    Thank you

  • -3

Does anyone know why PAPDY20 does not work with the officeworks store?

    • Try READTANDCS code

  • can you see which stores you can use this code on without actually 'buying' it first?

    • +1

Best way is to add item to cart -> then try to apply the code during check out.

      • cheers!!
doesnt work so aint buying lol

  • The code doesn't work for OLED tvs, even with the participating sellers.

    • Maximum discount is $300. Is that why it's not applying?

    • Selected Afterpay?

      • Afterpay payment option doesn’t appear with OLED tvs. I think I saw some other items without afterpay option as well, even in the participating sellers stores.

        • Yeah not everything if no afterpay on item page it won't work.

  • Your payment didn't go through. Please check your payment details or select a different payment option.

Is the ebay gift card trick still working? Tried on both app and Web and getting the above error

    • +1

So you're able to add the gift cards but it gives that error at the final stage?

I'm still waiting for my gift cards atm

      • yes I can add the gift cards and they show the balance and everything but the payment does not go through

        • I've noticed that it works if the gift card covers the full amount of the product ($0 left to Afterpay). If there's an amount left over to Afterpay, you proceed to login and pay by Afterpay and this error pops up for me also. I've tried different browsers, eBay app and changing credit cards in Afterpay but it seems they've blocked this for now.

    • Customer service says the transaction has triggered a security flag. After chatting with The Aussie team, another department will have to release the flag which could take a few hours.

      • Edit try on another well used account

  • Has anyone tried AGL Rewards with 7% off the TCN Online card which according to the TCN website can be used on eBay? Assuming this would stack on to the AfterPay payment..

    • +1

You can use this gift card at the following participating retailers: ASOS, Adore Beauty, Culture Kings, Princess Polly, Showpo, Surfstitch, Tiger Mist & Beginning Boutique. Excluding ebay.
