It's annoying, but I guess they need to make money, and hey, it's still free points. Also it's protection for your other points - they expire after 18 months unless you earn ANY points in that time, so handy to earn even a few each day.
Don't forget to tap on the other tabs - things like the car checkups or smoke alarms get you quite a few points when they reappear.

I have been using the Qantas Wellbeing App for about 4 weeks now since your post: https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/609733.
Today, I have noticed that they have reduced the points drastically for each activity. For example: 8K daily steps would result in a reward of 7.5 points, now reduced to just 1.5 points. What did I miss?
