1,000/Month Everyday Rewards Points or First 2 Months Free Premium + 10% off Shop from $13.41/Month @ Woolworths Pet Insurance

92

This is a bit of a refresh of this deal from way back when. I will start straight off the bat and say it isn't as good and it also won't be for everyone as it really depends how big your individual shops are at Woolworths. That being said… 2L of milk, a loaf of bread and a pack of Tim Tams will probably put you over the edge to make this deal worthwhile these days. /s

Sign up to a Woolworths Pet Insurance Policy and choose one of the following offers:

  1. 12000 EDR Points - credited as 1000 points per month, as long as the policy remains active.
  2. First two months of the policy free of charge.

The cheapest policy I can get through multiple testing quotes is $13.41 a month. That is based on a 3 month domestic short hair living in 2880 (Broken Hill). If you find cheaper, post and I will update it.

If you take option 1: You're effectively paying $8.41 a month to save 10% off a future shop (assuming you keep the 1000 EDR points applied monthly converted to savings off your shopping).

If you take option 2: You can choose to pay either weekly, fortnightly or monthly, and the first two months will be free, i.e. you should be able to use your 2 x 10% off shop vouchers and not pay anything, then cancel the policy. If you pay annually you will receive a discount equal to two monthly premiums but for what it's worth, if you plan on keeping the policy for longer than two months you are better off going with option 1. ($134.10/yr vs $100.92/yr).

This probably borderlines on unscrupulous behaviour and is similar to the Travel Insurance deal that was quite popular earlier this year. I figure if you never plan on claiming the insurance, it's not really going to be a problem.

Happy Dealing!

Or $0.02 per QFF point, which, depending on how it is spent, isn't bad value.

    You’re not an insurance provider

If you aren't using the insurance why not just sign up for everyday extra to get the monthly 10% off which, even at full price ($7/month or $70/year) is cheaper than $8/month?

    • +1

You can do both and get 2 discounts per month

I thin the point is that the standalone subscription is better than taking pet insurance cover if you don't need it just to get the 10%

So there's no point doing both. If you wanted 2, then sign up to the subscription twice without the need for the insurance

I can't do this as I don't collect EDR dollars, but QFF points. Can't have multiple EDR accounts that link to the same QFF number.

Or you could just sign up for two everyday extra accounts under different email addresses?

over a year ago when i was comparing pet insurance policies, which is a nightmare, woolworths insurance DID NOT cover pets that ate foreign objects. so i would avoid like the plague if toy have a dog.

can't say if they've updated their terms.

  • Thanks for the write up effort 👍

    "hack"

    • +2

      Yeah
Spending $14+ a month to get $5 of “woolies dollars” a month isn’t exactly a hack

      • isn't it $5 in points and 10% off one shop per month?

We use woolies for mobile so already get the 10%, not sure if it would stack to give us two, but I think the 10% off 1 shop per month is the value they are trying to point out. If you spend more than 95$ in one shop per month, you'd be in the black?

        • +1

Definitely stacks. Or at least Woolworths Mobile & Everyday extra stack, so i assume others would as well.

          • @binagran: Woolies Mobile and Everyday Extra don’t stack. Stacking means using them at the same time.

  • Do I need a pet to sign up for this?

    • OP does not have a pet.
