I saw the ASUS O!Play Mini Plus Media Player in Harvey Norman Liverpool for $138. The original price was $178. It is similar to the WDTV Live Streaming Media Player but with the card reader. Also include WIFI and wired network socket. The link to HN site is not quite correct. I think they mixed up between the ASUS O!Play Mini Plus and ASUS O!Play Mini which doesn't have wifi and streaming services.

I have an Asus O!Play (not the mini) and it's been great. Plays absolutely everything I can throw at it.
I'm not sure about what this one has going for it (haven't looked) but the new WDTV Live has an awesome interface making it great to just flick through your library and has been getting fairly consistent updates and improvements since launch (Andriod and IOS apps to use as wifi remotes came out last week for example) and last I saw Office Works had it for $120.
I agree. I have the new WDTV Live and it plays everything I throw at it. Great interface, all the good internet channels and wireless works well streaming movies, including high def stuff.
Probably going to get negative voted for this, but I could have sworn I saw this for $98 at Knox HN (Vic) during Boxing Day sale (Sorry, no pics for evidence).
Missing optical output which the WDTV Live has.
It does have S/PDIF Out (Optical).
