STM produce high quality bags and sleeves for laptops and other devices. I recently bought the "Jacket" style bag for my MacBook Air, and I've been exceptionally happy with the purchase.
The Jacket is hardly larger than a sleeve, so it easily fits into my backpack. It can be worn as a bag via the removable straps, or held by the vertical handle. It also has a flat side-pocket suitable for documents and papers. And a phone-sized pocket on the opposite side, that is large enough to fit my Desire HD, and would likely fit a Galaxy Nexus or S2.
I bought the 11-inch for $50 from a Mac reseller, and the same model was selling for $80 at the bag shops in the mall.
DSE are currently selling the 11-inch for $35, and the 13- and 15-inch versions for $42 as part of their '30% Off All Notebook Bags' sale.
It's brilliant value; very good quality, and renders a laptop sleeve unnecessary in most circumstances, too.
Also:
• Link above is to the 13" Jacket, find others via: http://dicksmith.com.au/notebook-bag-sale/t/
• The Scout ($70) also looks useful and well-priced for more general use (though, I've never used one.)
• The Micro X ($49) doesn't seem quite as good value, yet is still reasonable, and looks like it would fit those Kindle refurbs. (Also see iPad Jacket & iPad Stash via search term "STM")
• My friend had The Alley ($63) and it was high quality, and big enough to use as a schoolbag.
• If you're concerned about the Woolworths Group's bad track record with farmers / pokies / asbestos etc, it should be easy enough to pricematch at DJs, Myer, JB et al.
