this is the new XPS 13? It looks like the old XPS 13.

2020's model had a 16:10 screen with a reduced chin (it looks like the 2019 2-in-1). They went back to the big chin again?

    • This is the FHD screen maybe that's only for the UHD models?

      • the 16:10 models were for both.

        The 9300 looked like this

The keyboard is also wider, leaving much narrower gaps near the side edges. Just all around nicer.

The pictures in the 9310 look like the very old XPS 13. I hope it's just a mistake with the pictures, but apparently not because the Dell web site shows the same pics.

Its the new one with 11th gen Intel processor

new processor, very old form factor apparently.

  • It seems to be new gen with 16:9 but your right the 9310 and 9300 both have 16:10…odd

  • With Genuine Intel CPU utilizing the latest MMX technology.

    • But will it have SSE?

  • is it 2:1?

    • No.

For those wondering, this is Dell's stopgap solution, it's an XPS 13 7390 chassis fitted with the latest internals (XPS 13 9310 equivalent), hence the name 9305 (not quite as good as the 9310 but within the same generation parts-wise). This reminds me of Apple's iPhone SE line, where they take the phone chassis of the previous generation and fit it with current generation internals to sell at a cheaper price.

    • i don't know why they needed a stopgap solution. I legit thought someone goofed and posted the wrong pics. This is a very dated form factor that they had used for about 5 years before finally redesigning it.

      • I believe it was originally meant to be a China exclusive for the more price sensitive buyers there, I had no idea it made its way to Australia.

The only saving grace is that they moved the webcam to the top of the screen in the final iteration of the previous design (7390, 2019), which this model has kept. So apart from the lack of 16:10 screen and resulting "chin", you aren't missing out on too much design-wise, and certainly nothing performance-wise.

        • the new 9300/9500 design looks a lot sleeker and more premium. It's the sexiest laptop I've seen.

I would wait for a deal on the 9310 if I was considering this.

That's a lot of money for a 16:9 FHD screen and only 1-year warranty. Not a 2-in-1 either.

Got the 2-in-1 9310 for ~$2200 and absoultely love it. 16:10 makes a bigger difference then you'd think it would .

    • Thats cheap. I paid 2390 for simple 9310. Ah well work will pay for it

    • Don't know why i got negged…
