  • American ones are 110 volts, so keep that in mind… they won't work here without a step down transformer

  • how much is it going to cost to ship that thing?

    • Price includes shipping

  • Product Features
Cannot be used in Australia, not Suitable for Australian Voltage System

    • Where does it say not suitable for Australian Voltage System?

      • Says pretty clearly:

        Product Features
        Color: Empire Red

        • 325-watt mixer with 10 speeds; 5-quart stainless steel bowl
        • Tilt-back head for easy access to mixture

        • Includes flat beater, dough hook, and wire whip
        • Measures 14 by 8-2/3 inches by 14 inches; 1-year warranty
        • Cannot be used in Australia, not Suitable for Australian Voltage System
      • "Where does it say not suitable for Australian Voltage System?"

Um, quite clearly there in the link you posted under 'Product Features'

        • Thanks save me $$$ might look into the Breville now. Love OZ Bargainers, always helpful. Now how do I cancel this post?

        • I think the breville professional ones are on sale at the good guys with free ice cream attachment. I bought one for $441

        • Hit the 'report' link if you really want to unpublish.

      • it'll be for 110v only

    • With kitchenaid, when buying online - unless it specifically states 220v, then it is 110v - not for Australia.

    • If only there was some kind of adaptor that would be able to modify voltage. QUICKLY TO THE PATENTS OFFICE!

  • As said, the 110V makes this a dud deal. You'd need an additional transformer to use it. It gets damn annoying having to keep the beastly device around.

  • I have and use one of these American 110v machines I bought while living in the US and run it off a stepdown tranny.
They are awesome machine and beat the pants off the competition.
I was going to have mine converted to 240v here in Oz and discovered it
was going to be too expensive….so just I run it off the stepdown and it's great.
They are rather expensive to buy here in Oz and thought the free trade agreement with the US was supposed to make thing equal….Not!

      Probably shouldn't use "tranny".

Try here (or similar site): http://www.220-electronics.com/Kitchenaid_Mixer_220_volts/Ki…

It's over $100 more than the amazon offering ($459/$489 for artisan, or $699 for pro model) but by the time you add the cost of a decent step-down transformer, the price difference is worth the saving on inconvenience. Still about $200 cheaper than the best Australian sourced model.

  • Be aware that Peter McInnes, the Australian importer and distributor will not warrant any machines bought online/overseas unless that site has a physical storefront in Australia.

Personally I think Kitchenaid are over rated. A kenwood Chef will outlast and outperform these anyday - but thats just my opinion.

  • I got one in July and on its second use it would only operate on one speed. I got it through Peter McInnes and was able to send it back for a replacement. Make sure you get a warranty.
