For those looking for specs.

Snapdragon 765G
Decent mid ranger.

Dxo calls it "capable". This is pretty much why I recommend Nokia's, they do everything "well enough" without any significant compromises. The camera is reasonable, screen bright enough, battery good, soc fair.
Not sure if they fixed this problem in new phones but multiple models had issues with charging port getting loose easily.
My 7.1 faced the same issue and they only have 1 service center in whole of Australia (in Sydney)… Whaaaat!!!
Would never make the mistake of buying a Nokia again.
2x 7.1 here, no issues at all.
i bought a Nokia 5.1 from Aldi a couple of years back and it is the cheapest, shittiest pile of bantha wank i have ever had the displeasure of owning (and i have owned Doogees, Bluboos etc). The GPS barely works at all, the camera sometimes works if it's in the mood, the bluetooth can't stay connected so you can't listen to music on BT headset, but no worries just use the 3.5 mm plug you say? Yeah, that doesnt work either lmao, the wifi reach is shorter than my armspan, just about every single facet of a smartphone you might use is rubbish in some way or another. One thing i will say is the "phone" aspect of it worked fine and didn't have the ridiculous proximity sensor issues my current Oppo A52 has so i guess it's okay in that regard? But yeah i'll never touch a Nokia again either, they are cheaper chinese junk even than the actual chinese-branded junk these days.
Clearly a defective device. Did you return it for warranty? Or just suffer the phone for some odd reason?
We've had one "not quite right" device like this (out of the 15 or so our business has used) and just swapped it out.
they fixed my nokia under warranty although water damaged, was 1 week turnaround …..have upgraded to new model and would definitely buy nokia again if price was right ….had a 7.1, no issues with charge port, have a 7.2 now ….love android one, only other phone i’d consider is pixel4 5G which got down to $650 with christmas sales.
The USB port problem was a widespread issue on several X.1 series of Nokia phones. It was acknowledged as an issue by Nokia at the time and they did a very good job of fixing any issues for free. The X.2 and X.3 versions of their phones should not have this issue anymore. Nokia is very good warranty wise if anything does go wrong.
Overpriced I think for those specs
Terrible price for specs , I ordered the LG V50 from the US , it has 5G and the snapdragon 855… - all that 'luxury' for $400 AUD
That's actually a sweet price for the L.G, well done on your ozB badge, you've earnt it.
😍😭🙏
Still available :p
https://www.ebay.com/itm/383566191190Was it factory sealed when you received it?
@BuyNow Think Later: I am actually not the receiver of it :(
Sent it to a friend :(I'll try to get an answer our of them.
Seller has good rep, I'd assume if they say it's brand new, they mean it.
Just lots of old stock, he seemed nice when we chat about some specs.
I wouldn't touch an LG, my experience in the past is that they've been very, very poor at doing security updates. In fact, one mobile I bought at Aldi didn't even get a single security update. Simply NGE.
We're talking old and cheap, compromises to be made.
I'd rather compromise on features than security updates, which means for me that AndroidOne is the one non-negotiable requirement.
@mathew42: Have a look online how far behind some HMD phones are with monthly updates
even though they are Android one.
Most others now offer monthly firmware updates even Samsung which was bad.
I'd only recommend an LG to someone that can flash custom roms. An exploit for unlocking the v50 bootloader was just found, so probably still a bit until some custom roms appear on the scene.
Would this LG have all the correct frequencies for Australia for 5G, sorry newbie question.
I've actually checked, yes.
Their 4G and 5G is standard. From what I can see only three 5G bands on the US version that is linked.
41, 260, 261
Which none are supported in Australia.
4G yes the majority of bands are supported.
The Australian V50 has n78.
So wouldn’t be buying the US v50 for the 5G just 4G and a good phone with a excellent processor for the price. Just don’t expect any updates so it will be on Android 10 and whatever security updates it is up to now.
Googling LG V50 ANDROID 11
Shows lots promising intentions to have an update released! :)@The Milk Man: Well if the G7 has a kernel release which ran on 845 the 855 V50 should get a release.
Appreciate your response. Always helps getting the info from someone that knows than mistakingly thinking I knew that I was researching!!😀
does it work completely with Vodafone, I had a look, it seems its fully compliant
I have both the Nokia 8 and the LG V50. The Nokia is a good little phone but LG is a clear winner in specs and quality at that price.
It's got a hell of a chunky Chin for a $640 phone.
RRP was $900!!!! and it is LCD screen as well.
overpriced?
Not 5g but for the price would rather this
120hz 855+ and 5x optical zoom
12gb ram - 256gb storage
$599 with 2 year warranty
https://www.jbhifi.com.au/products/realme-x3-superzoom-256gb…Methinks this might have been $430 3 months ago??
Well maybe not as high specc'ed
Had the Nokia 8, it was a great phone. Checked out the 8.3 but it's huge, significantly taller, wider and thicker.
Nice huge phone
