Good price for what is essentially a Fossil Gen 4 smart watch. The battery life and generally speed of the Snapdragon 2100 isn't exactly earth-shattering, but they look good and at 5ATM this one in particular is better suited for swimming than similar Gen 4 watches.

If you're not worried about having a super-smooth Google Wear experience, this is an excellent price for a good looking smart watch!

"if you are happy with a jagged AF Android experience, this should be good for you"

Fixed that for you. Personally I have a gen 4 now, and I have bought the garret and will be getting rid of the gen 4

  • Some very average reviews out there; read those first before buying

  • Not good reviews on Harvey Norman site

    • depends what people are looking for, i have been using this for more than 2 months , very happy . Only problem is , i cant call or receive call from it , if not its my excellent buy

    • TBF that’s reviews based on a 600 dollar watch, which yeah… way way overpriced. But at 150 it’s pretty decent.

  • Well, to be honest, yesterday's Gen-5 deal was a no brainer. This watch has better looks for formal wear at a cost of less Ram and being Gen 4.

Neg for being a member for 8 months and not knowing an inappropriate use of a negative

  • The gen-4 watches had only 512MB RAM, and suffer badly in user-interface lag because of it. I would avoid.

If you're not worried about having a super-smooth Google Wear experience

    Ha! No such thing.

    • “Ha! No such thing.” I’ve had a flawless experience on my Gen 5 Fossil. I haven’t once seen it lag (not after it did all its updates anyway)

      • "Not laggy" is not the same as "super smooth". Compare the scrolling, or time to wake when lifting the wrist.
Some watches will switch to bright mode before I see it, while WearOS is a good fraction of a second later.

        • Oh yeah fair enough you’re right I do experience that.

  • Imagine paying $599 for a cheap / nasty brand like this

    • +3

      Correction, overpriced expensive nasty brand

      • I was speaking in reference to quality. Might as well be a kmart brand.

It could be worse, it could be a Piere Cardin watch.

    • Imagine paying $5999 for dumb mechanical watch!

People are not rational when buying watches, it is like jewellery, wine or cosmetics. Perceived quality is influenced by price.
So if a wine or watch is 75% off, a person will perceive it to be lower quality in some objective way, when it may just be the style of the label or face.

    Great 2nd deal

    Thanks for the effort

    Ignore the Karen’s and Keith’s

    • Thanks.

    • Ignore the Karen’s, Keith’s and/but trust Armani

Dial size is 46mm, so it's in the "oversize" category.

So best-suited to the chunky-wristed blokes out there, or those really wanting to make a statement.

  • Not only is Emporio Armani a overpriced fashion over function company, I've seen some people claim that the battery dies fast and that the back of the watch pops off after only a few months of use.

    • +1

You realise Armani just has a license deal here? This watch is actually made by Fossil, with software by Google.

      • Doesn't change the fact that the build quality leaves a lot to be desired

  • Here is a newer Gen-5 watch deal. Same price, but much better performance, if you like the case design:

    • if you doing spec review, sure gen5 is much better
      but Armani actually look nicer
p.s. not planning to pay full price for the looks but at 150, very tempted
